It’s no secret that Rapper Drake is widely successful, and he certainly has the money to show for it. One thing Drake might love more than his music? Sports betting. If you follow Drake on social media, you’ll notice that he’s always posting about different sports, players, and teams, along with the bets he’s placing on them. One could say that he has a bit of a gambling addiction. The rapper came clean, showing off how much he’s bet and lost in just one month, and the amount is staggering.

Drake Bets Big and Loses Big

Drake is always talking about sports betting on social media, especially because he has an endorsement deal with Stake, an online casino, where he is paid $100 million a year to endorse the brand, according to the Financial Times.

Recently, the rapper posted on his Instagram stories his biggest bets and losses over the past month, and the numbers are astronomical.

In the Instagram stories, you can see that the rapper wagered an insane $124. 5 million in about 30 days. Out of all of those bets, he came out with a net loss of $8,235,686. He posted the stories showing off his losses rather than his winnings, writing, “Gotta share the other side of gambling… losses are so fried right now. I hope I can post a big win for you all soon, cause I’m the only one that has never seen a max these guys max once a week.”

The “Drake Curse”

Many are convinced that there’s something called a “Drake Curse” because whenever the rapper supports a team or roots for them, especially with a bet, that team ends up losing.

Recently, he lost $1 million after betting on the Toronto Maple Leafs to win against the Florida Panthers during their playoff game on May 18th. The Leafs lost. He also lost $355,000 when he bet on Mike Tyson to win the Mike Tyson-Logan Paul fight in November 2024. He also bet on the Kansas City Chiefs to win the 2025 Super Bowl… which they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. That’s just naming a few big bets that he lost.

In a mock interview posted on his Instagram, he’s aware of the so-called “Drake Curse” and thinks it’s funny.

The rapper said, “The Drake curse is funny to me. First of all, the Toronto Raptors are NBA champions. If there was a Drake curse, Kawhi [Leonard] would’ve never hit that shot, we would’ve never beat the Warriors. There is no Drake curse, but it’s funny, though.”

He went on to say that it’s not the curse, but rather the fact that he’s really bad at sports betting.

“I am a flawed sports better,” he said. “I will not deny that. That’s not my gift. I’ll let everybody roll with it. I’m sure if you’re a Drake curse believer, there will be plenty more content in the future to confirm your theories because my slips do not cash out. But one day I’m gonna have a parlay that’s insane.”
