You kept me down,
you thought you won.
Had me closing the curtains,
avoiding the morning sun.
Buried you deep inside,
I never spoke your name.
You tried to play the victim,
but I refuse to play your game.
I’ll never forgive you for what you did,
and can’t go back in time.
But from here on out,
You can’t manipulate my mind.
I hope you’re suffering for what you did,
and hope you learned a lesson.
I survived and kicked your ass,
I’m moving on, so Goodbye to you Depression.
You will never hold me down again,
and the timing is just right.
If you try to check back in with me,
I’ll flip you the bird because I am finally enjoying life!
Dedication
This poem goes out to anyone who suffers from depression or is going through something tough. Don’t let depression bully you! You are stronger than you realize, and bad times don’t last. Good things are around the corner just stay strong and positive. Treat people the way you would like to be treated. Things have a way of working themselves out. Don’t allow depression to get the best of you, and don’t let it make you a victim! If anyone needs to hear this, you got this! Give yourself credit for how far you’ve come on your personal journey.
