Daily Devotional Tuesday Thoughts | June 16, 2026

In daily devotional, an open Bible is shown with the word "Faith" spelled dout below it.

It’s Tuesday, and time for your daily devotional. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to go through life without worries or anxieties? You can, for it’s God’s will for you. And He communicates this through His word. The most repeated command in the Bible is “Fear not.” In today’s daily devotional, God wants you to live without fear or worry, and you can through prayer.

Paul Writes to Encourage

Paul writes to the Philippian church during his first imprisonment in Rome. Paul was jailed several times for preaching the gospel. No one would probably blame him if he felt discouraged, depressed, or worried about his future. Yet rather than write a letter to get sympathy, He writes to encourage. Paul begins with an exhortation of grace and peace. He’s praying for them while confident God’s good work will be performed in them.

Paul prays their love will increase, and they’ll be filled with the fruits of righteousness. When he mentions prison, rather than ask them to intercede for his release, he tells them it’s been for the “furtherance of the gospel.” In your daily devotional, no matter what happens, look at the bigger picture: God using you as a vessel to carry the gospel further.

Rejoice in the Lord

Paul inspires them to walk in humility and persuades them to rejoice in the Lord. He asserts that he’s pressing toward the mark and exhorts them to be like-minded. He admonishes them to follow his example and others who walk in righteousness. He reminds them that there are enemies of the cross, but God’s people have a blessed hope. In this daily devotional, don’t magnify your circumstances; magnify the God of your salvation.

Be Careful for Nothing

Encouraging them to stand fast in the Lord, Paul declares in Philippians 4:6-7, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Paul urges Philippian believers not to worry or be anxious about situations they may face. There’s a saying, “You’re too blessed to be stressed,” which is a mindset. God has given you all things in Christ, so there’s no need to stress out. Faith Leader Kenneth E. Hagin used to say he grew up in a family of world-class worriers, and he became one. However, when he received salvation, he had to stop worrying and trust God. In this daily devotional, the word is clear: God wants us to pray, believe, and not worry.

Prayer and Supplication

As Mark 11:24 says, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”  Paul instructs them to turn everything over to God in prayer. Whatever is of concern to you should be given to God. Supplication involves kneeling, lying prostrate, or bowing before God. In your daily devotional, prayer is going into the secret place of the Most High, shutting down everything else and communing with Him. He is your Refuge and Fortress; therefore, trust Him and have faith.

God Sets His Love Upon You

In Tuesday’s daily devotional, Psalm 91:5 confirms that there’s nothing to be afraid of, either by day or night. God has graciously given His angels charge over you and set His love upon you. In today’s daily devotional, why should you worry when the God of the universe has you in His care?
