Daily Devotional Friday Faith | May 22, 2026
Happy Friday! It’s time for your daily devotional. Jesus skillfully taught the principles of the kingdom, such as love, faith, and giving. However, Scripture records Him teaching about hell fifteen times; therefore, it’s a topic we shouldn’t ignore. Jesus’ masterful teaching, above all others, gives us knowledge, wisdom, and revelation, as well as warning. In today’s daily devotional, Jesus teaches you everything you need to know about living in the kingdom, as well as what to avoid in the future.
The Reality of Hell
In Matthew 13, when Jesus finished teaching the three kingdom parables, in which He compares hidden treasure, a pearl, and a net to the Kingdom of Heaven, He concluded with the reality of hell. In this daily devotional, He speaks of torment and anguish, not to lose His audience, but to have them see that hell is a real place, with real activity, and real suffering.
A wise teacher doesn’t leave anything out, so the student will be duly informed. In verse 51, Jesus asks, “Have ye understood all these things? He wants His listeners to know the truth and live wisely. In your daily devotional, Jesus doesn’t want you to be fixated on hell, but to know that without God, hell is the only eternal option.
Full Counsel of God

The crowd answers, ” Yea, Lord,” to Jesus’ question. He warns you to avoid hell to empower you with the knowledge that hell isn’t a metaphor, it’s a location. It’s the eternal home for those who forsake God. As a believer, you must accept the full counsel of God. For Micah 6:8 declares, “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee.” God has given you everything you need for life and godliness. He daily loads you with benefits so that you’ll come behind in no gift. In today’s daily devotional, you serve a God who has revealed to you the right way.
Rich Treasure Trove
After the crowd’s reply, Jesus further compares the kingdom to a homeowner: “Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.” As a homeowner furnishes a home with a variety of furnishings, both antique and contemporary, you should draw from past revelations while embracing new ones.
The Old Testament provides history, wisdom, and prophecy, and the New Testament anchors it with the manifestation of Christ, His mission, and His works, which the Old Testament points to. It’s a marriage of the concealed and the revealed. You’re to study to show yourself approved unto God. If you don’t read, pray, and spend time with the Father, you won’t have a treasure to draw from.
There are things God will give you for personal growth, and things He will give you for others. When you don’t share faithfully what God gives you, you bury your talent. In your daily devotional, your faith journey is one in which you never stop growing and adding to your knowledge.
God’s Word Makes You Proficient
The Bible is progressive revelation, and we must be knowledgeable of it all. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” Verse 17 tells us God’s word makes us proficient and equipped for every good work. In today’s daily devotional, you should have a rich treasure trove of wisdom from your past experiences, as well as fresh oil. Use your knowledge to warn others.
