Conan O’Brien has just been unboxed for the latest news on ‘Toy Story 5’! It was announced that the former late-night host and podcaster would be lending his voice to a character named “Smarty Pants” for the upcoming Pixar film. O’Brien will also be starring along with Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and an all-star cast ready to bring laughs and enjoyment in the latest adventures of our favorite toys. From his Team Coco account on Instagram, O’Brien states, “These films are amazing, I can’t believe this.” Conan does joke about wanting to voice Woody or Buzz, but was told that they’ve been cast already.
A Legend Himself
For those who don’t know Conan O’Brien, for years he hosted shows like ‘Late Night with Conan O’Brien’, ‘CONAN on TBS’, and currently ‘Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend’ podcast, which can be listened to wherever podcasts are available. O’Brien was also a writer on shows like Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons, his most famous episode being “Marge vs. The Monorail.”
He has also featured in films like ‘Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop’, ‘Weird: the Al Yankovic Story’, and ‘Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain’, and is no stranger to voice over with films like ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ and ‘The Mitchells Vs. the Machines’ to name a couple. He was also recently honored with the Mark Twain Prize, which you can currently watch on Netflix.
What Can Coco Bring to Toy Story 4?
If you have ever seen any of Conan’s work, both on the screen and off, then you know that his comedy will speak for itself. What we hope he brings is his energy and comedic timing to this brand-new character being introduced in this Toy Story film.
If you look at the last Toy Story movie, Toy Story 4, the last comedians to show up in this Pixar film series were Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele from the hit show Key and Peele, and they brought their signature comedic energy to the film. One of the most enjoyable things about seeing someone in comedy voice an animated character is watching them put themselves into it, and we think Conan will do just that.
