A new comic book adaptation is generating major buzz in Hollywood, teaming up an acclaimed actor with two of the biggest names in blockbuster filmmaking. Colin Farrell is set to star in Ordained, a new action-thriller produced by Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO banner. The project, based on an upcoming comic book, is already one of the hottest packages making the rounds with studios and streamers.

Colin Farrell Set To Play A Priest with a Violent Past

Ordained features a compelling and high-concept premise that is sure to excite action fans. Farrell will star as Father Roy Craig, a priest who finds himself in a deadly predicament after performing last rites for a dying mob boss. When the gangster miraculously survives, he sends hitmen, corrupt cops, and other criminals to silence the priest who heard his last confession.

However, the mob boss and his cronies are in for a surprise. Father Roy has a secret, violent past that makes him a far more dangerous target than anyone could imagine. The story promises a unique blend of spiritual duty and brutal action, creating a fascinating anti-hero in Father Craig.

A Powerhouse Creative Team

The talent attached to Ordained is a recipe for a blockbuster. Colin Farrell, fresh off an Emmy nomination for The Penguin, has proven his versatility in both dramatic roles and high-octane action. He will also serve as a producer on the film.

Behind the camera, the project is backed by the Russo Brothers, the masterminds behind some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most successful films, including Avengers: Endgame. Their production company, AGBO, has a track record of delivering slick, intelligent action. Adding to the creative firepower is John Wick scribe Derek Kolstad, who is writing the script.

Kolstad’s involvement signals a project that will likely feature intricate world-building and expertly choreographed action sequences. The film is based on the upcoming comic book of the same name from publisher Bad Idea.

With a team that has defined the modern action and comic book movie genres, Ordained has the potential to be a standout thriller.
