Chris Brown on 20th Anniversary Tour

Infamous singer Chris Brown is no stranger to getting into trouble with the law, and this time he’s been arrested yet again because of an incident that took place back in 2023. The singer was arrested in the UK for the incident in which he attacked a music producer with a glass bottle. As soon as he landed in Manchester, he was detained, and details are still emerging.

Chris Brown In Trouble Again

In the early hours of the morning on Thursday, May 15, 2025, Chris Brown was arrested at a hotel in Manchester. The Metropolitan Police tracked him down at The Lowry Hotel, where the arrest was made after he arrived on a private jet and checked into the hotel, according to The Independent. Allegedly, Chris Brown attacked a music producer at a nightclub in London two years ago.

The police told the Independent, “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 2 A.M. on Thursday, May 15, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody, where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on February 19, 2023. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.”

What Exactly Happened?

Back in 2023, there was an alleged incident between Chris Brown and music producer Abe Diaw. According to The Sun, Diaw alleged that Chris Brown attacked him at Tape nightclub unprovoked, and hit him over the head with a bottle before punching and kicking him as he fell to the ground.

Diaw told The Sun, “He hit me over the head two or three times. My knee collapsed as well.” After the incident took place, Diaw was taken to the hospital for his injuries. As a result, Diaw initiated a civil claim against Chris Brown for $16 million in damages due to his injuries and losses suffered after the attack.

Chris Brown was set to kick off his 20th anniversary Breezy Bowl XX tour, playing a handful of shows in the UK next month. Although with this new arrest and legal issues pending, it is unclear if that will continue to be the plan.
