The 45-year-old country singer is currently in the hot seat. This time it is unfortunately not because of another summer music hit. You may know him better as the lead singer of The Zac Brown Band. The “Chicken Fried” and “Toes” singer has recently filed a restraining order against his now ex-wife. If you are wondering what she has done to get into this position, here is what she has to say.

Zac Brown’s ex-wife is Kelly Yazdi. The couple was married only four months before Brown filed for divorce. Before being married to Yazdi, Zac Brown was married to Shelly Brown for 12 years. When the two separated, they spoke to Fox News Digital.
They stated, “We are in the process of divorce. Our mutual respect for one another remains,” in a combined statement to Fox News Digital at the time. They continued, “We wish each other the best and will always appreciate our time together. As we navigate this personal matter, we simply request privacy during this time.”
Well, it sure seems as though plans have changed since that statement. Let’s talk about the emergency restraining order Zac Brown has placed, perhaps.

Why The Restraining Order?
Right after Zac Brown filed for divorce, Kelly shared her side of the story, accusing him of “narcissistic abuse.” This was a violation of an employee confidentiality agreement she had previously signed. In response to that, he filed a restraining order granted by the Georgia courts.
Not only did he file an emergency restraining order, but also injunctive relief, and damages. All of this is regarding the agreement she had signed on May 17th. The order being granted meant Kelly would have to remove the Instagram and TikTok posts.
In response to the event, Zac Brown stated, “After much deliberation, I took the steps necessary to enforce an agreement between us to maintain personal and business affairs in confidence and to protect my family from online harassment and speculation.”
He continued with, “My only hope is for us to keep private matters private and to move forward with the mutual respect we had agreed to show one another when we parted ways.”
Kelly Speaks Out
In a TikTok video, Kelly posted, “No one – not even Zac Brown with all of his money, power, celebrity, and lawyers – may silence my right to freely express myself through art or, although I have to date declined to do so publicly, to speak about the circumstances of our pending divorce,”
She continued with, “I intend to respond swiftly and robustly to his meritless complaint that publication of two poems on my personal social media account divulged any ‘confidential information’ about his business, much less authorizes a court to enjoin me from speaking about matters in my personal life that have nothing to do with my brief former work for the Zac Brown Collective, Inc.”
