Superstar Zayn Malik, 31, has had an intriguing love life. He was engaged to Little Mix member Perrie Edwards in 2013, whom he met on The X Factor UK in 2011. Unfortunately, their relationship ended in August 2015. Then, he dated Gigi Hadid officially in 2016 and things ended between them in 2021. With all this, he is currently single but not out of the game. He resorted to dating apps like Tinder but the dating apps begged to differ. Let’s see how that happened.

Despite loving to stay private about his life, superstar Zayn Malik opened up about his struggle with dating apps. People always asked him, “What are you using Zayn Malik’s pictures for?” Which led him to be kicked off of Tinder once or twice. After he struggled with dating apps, he’s no longer trying to meet people on apps, or anyone at this point. He is just satisfied and happy with being single for the first time in a while, embracing his own company.
He did state, though, that if he does find somebody he loves, he won’t rush into things like he used to. He said: “It’s probably wise to take your time before you fully invest in another human being as a lifelong partner.” And we can see that the former One Direction superstar has matured and learned from his past relationships how to be a better person.

Zayn admits that when he got into his past relationships, he wasn’t mature enough for them. He doesn’t know if he’s ever been in love for real or not. What he did know, though, is that he wanted to prove to himself that he was mature and man enough through these relationships. He thought that being engaged to Perrie Edwards and nearing marriage made him a mature man, but claims are that he broke up with her over text, which is not so mature and manly, if it’s true.
With Gigi, he tried to prove to himself his manliness by living together with her. They ended up having a daughter, Khai, in 2020. He may be having doubts about his love for his past lovers, and if he might ever fall in love again. However, one thing that is for sure is that his love for Khai is undying and unconditional. He shares custody with Gigi and gets her 50% of the time. He says that if it were up to him, he would’ve liked to have her 90% of the time.
Afterthought
We can see that as he evolved, so did his look at life. Who would have believed that the young One Direction superstar would grow to be a loving father? Relationships may not be his forte and dating apps can be unforgiving to him, yes, but he’s embracing himself and whatever life brings him now. Also, he’s getting to know himself better, which is something that all of us need to do from time to time.
