Despite being a megastar and fans’ favorite, Selena Gomez has those ‘awkward’ moments. In an interview, she confessed how it feels to re-live being a young actress. The 32-year-old who settled into watching previous episodes of Wizards Of Waverly Place, shared:
“When I watch the first season, I cringe, and then later I actually find myself laughing at those moments because the real moments are, to me, what made Wizards.”
Amid the cringing and laughter, Selena Gomez still appreciates her former stars on set. According to her, the show was written by writers from “Friends.” These geniuses knew the right blend of humor to add to the show. Interestingly, Selena was paired with Dom DeLuise’s son, David Deluise. David starred as Jerry, Selena’s on-screen dad. While speaking about their collaboration, the actress confessed that he was captivating. David was able to steal the hearts of the cast with his resounding humor.

This time the show is titled Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Like before, Selena Gomez and David Henrie were paired as siblings. They maintained their characters as Alex and Justin Russo. Aside from the friendship on the screen, these two have a strong bond.
Seeing each other on set brought back memories for the duo. According to the actor, the new show was crafted for the new generation.
What To Expect
The actress spilled a few details of what’s to come in February. As a guest on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, she established that it was not exactly a reboot. Like Henrie, Selena explained that the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place would be a different version. But amid the changes, some characters will reprise their role on the show.
As stated earlier, Selena would play Alex, only as a guest star in the pilot episode. Meanwhile, Henrie will stay on the project as a series regular. Despite leaving the screens rather early, Gomez will still be a big part of the production. Together with Henrie, the duo would be working behind the scenes. Reports have it that they are both executive producers of the series.
Final Thoughts
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is scheduled to premiere on October 9. Selena Gomez’s fans will see just two new episodes for a start. But the excitement has been building up. However, fans will only be able to truly testify to it being a good show when they see it!
