Princess Beatrice is expecting her second child and the new addition to the royal family will change the line of succession to the British throne. Princess Beatrice, 36, is now eighth in the line of succession. Her first child, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, is just behind her at No. 10, with Beatrice’s younger sister, Princess Eugenie, sitting at No. 11.
When the new kid is born in early spring 2025, he or she will take the place of No. 11, displacing Eugenie, 34, to No. 12. Princess Beatrice does not have a visible social media profile, and she and Edoardo have chosen not to display their daughter’s face online. They occasionally publish images of Sienna from behind, as do Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, and her sister, Princess Eugenie.
The Royal Family’s Delight
Buckingham Palace confirmed in a statement on October 1 that Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three. Both Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Princess Beatrice married in 2020. When Beatrice married Edo, 40, she became the first member of her generation of the royal family to become a stepmother.
In 2016, an American architect and designer gave birth to a son Christopher Woolf. Now eight years old, Wolfie has participated in many royal family events in the past, such as the family’s yearly Christmas Day stroll to St. Westminster Abbey hosting Kate Middleton’s annual Christmas carol event, Together in Christmas, and Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham every year. King Charles, Beatrice’s uncle, also expressed his excitement in the announcement, saying, “His Majesty The King has been informed, and both families are delighted with the news.”
Embrace Between Princess Beatrice and Edo
The palace also released two new photos of Princess Beatrice and her family. In one shot, Beatrice and Edoardo are in an embrace, beaming from ear to ear. The second image shows Edoardo and Wolfie holding hands with Sienna as the family takes a stroll through a scenic forest path – this is also the first image the palace has given of Sienna.
When she was born three years ago, delighted dad Edo said, “Our life together has just begun, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things that await us,” Edo added, “These are the days I never want to forget. This week, a friend said to me the sweetest saying…that with every child you grow a whole new heart.” In addition to her status as British royalty, Sienna’s lineage also includes other nobles.
Edo is derived from Italian nobility and will inherit the Northern Italian Villa Mapelli Mozzi palace, which dates back to the 18th century and is the family’s ancestral home. Because of this, Sienna and Beatrice are referred to as Italian “Nobile Donnas” and “Contessas,” respectively. Sienna has no royal title from the British dynasty.
Final Words
Princess Beatrice’s second child will significantly impact the British royal line of succession. The Mapelli Mozzi and royal families are equally happy with the development. The extended family that Beatrice and Edo have created is still expanding, and their shared experiences show how close they are. The family is ready to enjoy more priceless moments together as they embark on this exciting new chapter.
