More information has come to light regarding pop musician Justin Timberlake’s recent arrest. On Friday, June 21, Timberlake addressed the incident at his concert in Chicago. Statement on Justin Timberlake’s Arrest
Per the Huffington Post, on June 20, 2024, Timberlake’s lawyer told the publication regarding his arrest, “I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations. He will have a lot to say at the appropriate time, but we are currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney’s office.” While that is the lawyer’s only official statement on the matter, Timberlake himself has now also spoken out!
Justin Timberlake Speaks Out
Now, Timberlake himself is speaking out. According to Entertainment Weekly, on Friday, June 21, during a concert at the United Center in Chicago, Timberlake told the crowd, “We’ve been together through ups and downs, lefts and rights. It’s been a tough week, but you’re here, and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now”. Timberlake’s message was video recorded, and footage was released on social media by concertgoers following the event. The footage shows Timberlake bowing down to the crowd before adding, “I know sometimes I’m hard to love, but you keep on loving me, and I love you right back. Thank you so much!”
It was previously reported that Timberlake was arrested last week on suspicion of drunk driving. After a night out with friends in Sag Harbor, New York, Timberlake was pulled over for reckless driving. The officer responsible for pulling Timberlake over said the “Mirrors” singer refused a breathalyzer test, as is his right. Upon further investigation, it was concluded that Mr. Timberlake was driving while intoxicated. He was charged with a DWI and given citations for failure to stay in his lane and running a stop sign.

According to the report on Timberlake’s arrest, “It was ascertained that the defendant was operating said vehicle in an intoxicated condition in that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” the arresting officer wrote. The officer also documented that Timberlake struggled to complete the field sobriety tests without swaying or using his arms to balance himself. Overall, the musician appeared quite unsteady on his feet and was taken in on charges of driving while intoxicated.

This isn’t Justin Timberlake’s first time making headlines, as he recently came under a lot of scrutiny after the release of Brittany Spears’ book, The Woman in Me. In the book, Spears alludes to her and Timberlake’s toxic relationship, which lasted about three years. The duo reportedly dated from 1999 to 2002.
Timberlake is currently married to actress Jessica Biel. The duo met in 2007 at a mutual friend’s birthday party and began dating shortly afterward. They briefly split in 2011 before getting engaged in December of that same year. The couple married in 2012 and share two children: Silas and Phineas.
