Superstar Halsey released a new single on Tuesday called The End. In 2022, after giving birth to Ender, the singer revealed that she suffered from Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) in addition to endometriosis.
Now, however, there is more to reveal about her illness. She kept her struggles private but started sharing them publicly through The End. What are the latest updates about her health? That’s what we’re here to find out.

The singer posted on Instagram on Tuesday the release of her new single, stating: “Long story short, I’m Lucky to be alive. Short story long, I wrote an album. It begins with The End. out now,” tagging the Instagram accounts of the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in her post’s caption. On Wednesday, it’s when she started opening up about her illness in a second post.
The singer stated that both of her illnesses are currently being managed or in remission. After a bumpy start, she managed to slowly get everything under control with the help of her doctors. After 2 years, of dealing with the disease, she feels better and more grateful than ever to have music to turn to. She really looks forward to getting back to singing with her beloved fans.
Understanding Halsey’s Illnesses Better
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease, as in the body attacks its own healthy tissues and organs, with varying manifestations and presentations. It can range from mild manifestations to severe multisystemic involvement. Leukemia and lymphoma, however, are separate cancers. Leukemia is that of the blood and lymphoma is that of the lymphatic system.
There are no direct statements of her having leukemia or lymphoma but her saying that she has a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder and mentioning the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in her post’s caption can indicate that she could be suffering from something related to them. However, representatives for Halsey did not immediately comment on the exact diagnoses.
Afterthought
It’s tragic when you have a debilitating illness, but Halsey is swiftly pulling through. Using music to raise awareness of her sicknesses and how tough of a journey it can be is a very respectable move, and makes people feel that they’re not alone. Additionally, she used her journey with whatever she’s suffering from as an asset to give birth to art, she didn’t let it stop her from doing what she loves, which is creating music.
Despite the album name and release date not being announced, one is looking forward to it. We want a continuation of the “short story long” as the superstar’s journey is intriguing and inspiring. We wish Halsey all the best and that the diseases that she suffers from aren’t doing her bad to the point of negatively impacting her life.
