Celebrity Feuds: The Most Explosive Conflicts of 2024

Celebrity Feuds, hip-hop

Over the years, celebrity feuds have been some of the most memorable moments stamped in pop culture history. These headlining feuds often go from social media brawls and fan wars to career-changing incidents like the unforgettable VMAs drama of Kanye West and Taylor Swift in 2009. Without exception, 2024 has been a year without a shortage of drama, controversies, and celebrity feuds. Here are three of the most explosive celebrity feuds and conflicts so far:

Taylor Swift And Donald Trump

The bad blood between Taylor Swift and former President Donald Trump has been one for the books since Trump first declared that he liked her music “25 percent less” in 2018. He took their feud to a new level in September 2024 after posting about his distaste for her on his social media platform, Truth Social. Trump wrote: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!.”

Trump’s strong declaration came after the first lady of the Swifties endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris on Instagram for the coming 2024 presidential election. Swift posted a snapshot of herself and her cat, accompanying it with a caption that showed her support for the democrat party candidate. The “Folklore” crooner wrote: “I’m voting for @kamalaharrus because she fights for the rights and causes I believe we need a warrior to champion them.”

Swift first publicly showed interest in political issues in 2018. She supported and urged fans to vote for Tennessee Democrats Phil Bredesen and Jim Cooper in the US midterm elections. The record-breaking VMAs award winner expressed her disapproval of Trump two years later in 2020 when she heavily criticized his tweet amid the Black Lives Matter movement. Since then, there have been occasional snide remarks and scathing back and forth between both public figures, showing that their celebrity feud was far from over.

Sean “Diddy” Combs And 50 Cent

This celebrity feud has transcended through time, going as far back as the mid-2000s. Sean “Diddy” Combs and 50 Cent’s feud reached a fever pitch in 2024 amid the former’s legal woes. 50 Cent notably displayed his animosity towards Diddy as the music mogul faced several charges of sexual violence, sex trafficking, and racketeering, among others. The “Many Men” rapper called out Diddy on social media as alleged victims filed hundreds of lawsuits against him.

He continuously mocked the Bad Boy Records boss on social media. After the “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper was arrested in September, 50 Cent announced his Netflix documentary about Diddy’s alleged abuse lawsuit. The “Candy Shop” crooner also trolled Diddy after the Department of Homeland Security raided his mansions in 2024 and found over 1000 bottles of baby oil, among other items.

The feud between the A-list rappers dates back to 2006 when 50 Cent released a diss track, “The Bomb,” alleging that Diddy was connected to the 1997 murder of the Notorious B.I.G. The rappers went head to head years later to the point of representing rival vodka brands.

Drake And Kendrick Lamar

Hip-hop fans were thrown into a frenzy when Star rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar released diss tracks that included sensitive jabs at each other. It is safe to say that fans did not see this celebrity feud coming. In the early years of their career, Drake and Lamar featured in each other’s songs, signifying a healthy relationship between them. However, music lovers noticed things had changed between them when Lamar was featured on Metro Bumming and Future’s March 2024 album, “We Don’t Trust You.”

Lamar fired musical shots at Drake and J Cole, but most of his diss was directed at the “Take Care” rapper. Drake appeared to reply to Lamar’s diss during his It’s All a Blur tour, stating, “A lot of people asking me how I’m feeling, the rapper began. “I got my head up high, my back straight, I’m 10 toes down in Florida or anywhere else I go,” he declared. One month later, Drake released his counter-diss track, “Push Ups,” mocking Lamar’s physical features.

Both stars doubled down for a rematch as they released more diss songs with the most shocking lyrics. These included “Taylor Made Freestyle,” “Family Matters,” and “The Heart Pt. 6” from Drake. Lamar’s diss tracks included “Meet The Grahams,” “6:16 In LA,” “Euphoria,” and “Not Like Us.” “Not Like Us” became an iconic song, debuting at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. The celebrity feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar appeared to intensify, with no truce in sight as the year draws to an end.
