Cardi B Seems To Be Getting Ready To Release Her Album

Cardi B

Is Cardi B preparing to drop her sophomore album? Fans of the rapper seem to think so. After she assured her fans that she would drop her highly anticipated sophomore album this year, some fans quickly noticed that the star had uploaded 16 videos on her YouTube channel. Either way, her fans are gathering in their spaces, discussing what the new album could be and when it could come out.

Cardi B And The Success Of Invasion Of Privacy

Bronx rapper Cardi B catapulted into the limelight with her hit track, ”Bodak Yellow.” She dropped her debut album, Invasion Of Privacy, in 2018 and kicked down the locked doors of the female rap industry. The album achieved outstanding success, landing at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, spawning two number-one singles, and winning a Grammy for Best Rap Performance.

In 2020, Cardi B and fellow rapper Meg Thee Stallion released the track “WAP.” The song became an instant hit, reaching number one on the Billboard charts and going 8x platinum. Another collaboration between the two, “Up,” started at number six on the charts and eventually reached number one; it also went 2x platinum. Cardi B dropped both “WAP” and “Up” alongside “Enough (Miami)” and “Hot Shit.” The rapper has already confirmed that she’ll add these songs to her second album, meaning that upon release, her album will be certified platinum and already has three top ten hits.

What’s Known About The Album So Far

Cardi B

Cardi B wanted to make the wait fun for her fans, stating she would drop clues for them. In June, she performed at The BET Experience, wearing a jersey with the number 11 on it. On August 14th, she posted on Instagram that she believes in angel numbers and that the numbers 444 and 1111 are her lucky numbers. Now, fans theorize that she could announce the album on her birthday, October 11th, and drop it in November, the eleventh month.

On September 14th, Cardi B fans noticed that the rapper uploaded 16 videos to her YouTube channel. On the 16th, she wore a Lil Kim t-shirt and posted a picture of US rap queen and icon Lil Kim on her Instagram channel. Both fans of Kim and Cardi (called Bardigang) assume this is a clue that Lil Kim will be on the album. As far as features go, Meg Thee Stallion, Lil Durk, and controversial rapper Kanye West are the only ones known to be on the album. Fans are hoping for a Beyoncé collaboration because allegedly the two worked on something together, but it ultimately got scratched off due to it leaking.

Conclusion

It’s been six years since Cardi B’s debut album dropped, and she’s been dropping singles and working on collaborations with different female rappers, but many feel it’s time that she prioritizes her music and gives the fans what they want. The mainstream rap scene offers a variety of flavors of female rappers, but most hip-hop fans miss Cardi B’s gangster rap sound.
