Black Panther Star Teases Great Return Of Her Character In Future MCU Movies

Disney+ Deceptive Thriller "The Tyrant" Gains Momentum

There has been much speculation from fans about what the MCU will do with Black Panther after the death of Chadwick Boseman. Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios decided to make Wakanda Forever, and Letitia Wright took the starring role as T’Challa’s sister Shuri. She became the next Black Panther, but Marvel Studios has been quiet about whether she will be making an appearance again on screen. Wright made an appearance on The View and teased the return of her character.

Letitia Wright was asked whether Shuri would be appearing in any future Avengers projects or even a Black Panther 3. As with any MCU project, Wright had to be careful with her words but teased that we aren’t done visiting Wakanda.

“Let’s just say … I would like to continue with Shuri. She’s one of my favorite characters. Such a blessing, honestly. I kid you not, I’m so grateful for her… There’s a lot to, a lot to — a lot coming up.”

The last sentence was said with a sly smile. It seems likely Marvel will continue to build on the Black Panther franchise. Wakanda Forever grossed $860 million globally, but a third movie has not been officially green-lit. However, we know that the director of the first two movies, Ryan Coogler, has a multi-film deal with Marvel. Letitia Wright also teased earlier in an interview with Variety that a third movie might already be in the works.

“I think it’s already in the works. You know, we just had a terrific two years of bringing [ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever] out and everybody coming together to support it. We need a little bit of a break, we need to regroup and [director] Ryan [Coogler] needs to get back into the lab, so it’s going to take a little while, but we’re really excited for you guys to see that. I always try to do positive words and positive thinking, and I believe that good words manifest, so I’m manifesting a ‘ Black Panther 3 ,’ why not?”

Where Did We Leave The Character?

With the glut of MCU content in the past few years, it’s easy to forget where we have left certain characters. Namor the Sub-Mariner took on a huge role, and he could be explored more in a sequel. Furthermore, M’Baku, Okoye, and Nakia are all characters who have some loose ends to tie up. The biggest cliffhanger was T’Challa’s secret son, which was revealed at the end of Wakanda Forever. There are many directions they can go.

We will see the Black Panther on screen again. No matter who has taken the mantle, the character is one of the most popular in the MCU. Marvel seems to be reorganizing their schedule in order to focus on quality of quantity. However, fans can rest assured that Shuri will be returning to the screen at some point in the near future.
