Sunrise on the Reaping, by Suzanne Collins, is the most recent installation of the Hunger Games franchise, with characters like Beetee Latier, Haymitch, Lenore, etc. Along with that, there is a movie coming out November 20th, 2026. We’ve talked about the casting before, but a new casting was just dropped today, May 10th, 2025. It was dropped at about 10:00 pm PST, it was incredibly random.
However, it’s doubtful that anyone is complaining about more casting announcements for the movie. Although, you’re probably wondering, ‘Who got cast? Are they qualified? Are they someone I’d be familiar with?’ Well, that’s what we’re going to discuss in this short article.
Beetee Latier Actor
Beetee Latier’s actor is named Kelvin Harrison Jr. He is quite an infamous actor, which some people may not like, considering their reactions to Maysilee Donner’s actress, Mckenna Grace. Which, fair enough, considering why she’s so unpopular.
However, Kelvin doesn’t seem too problematic. Sure, there’s a little controversy regarding his role in the movie, Waves. However, it doesn’t seem like there’s enough to truly judge him before seeing him as Beetee Latier. If there’s more controversy that comes out later, then that stance might change.

Which, is good for Beetee, Beetee is a tinkerer, an inventor. He would probably approve of a jack of all trades, master of none, and is yet better than a master of one, being his actor. If that’s how the saying goes.
All together, Kelvin seems like a good man to play Beetee. He’s got the appearance, he seems to have the skills and he isn’t in any major scandals. Overall, not bad, it could be a worse actor playing Beetee.
