Golden Globes 2026: Color Palettes, Textures, and Trends That Defined the Night

The Golden Globes showcased bold, bright, and colorful fashion trends that lit up the red carpet, causing the actors to stand out. The fashion worldโ€™s trendsetting designs were on full display as the actors displayed their creations. Some of the outstanding color palettes were molten gold, electric brights, color blocking, and sheer fabrics.

Molten Gold

Molten gold is by far the most talked-about fashion trend of the 2026 Golden Globes. Itโ€™s the color of intense heat, appearing from brilliant glowing white to a yellowish-orange. Molten gold can be warm, vintage, creamy, or bright citrus. Actor Kristen Bell stunned in a liquid gown with a metallic sheen, creating an optical illusion.

Kylie Jenner wore a shimmery gold metallic hourglass gown covered in sequins with a molten gold hue. Jennfier Lopez chose a vintage gold gown, and Elle Fanning, who normally wears ballgowns, wore a sleek, liquid gold form-fitting gown featuring a plunging neckline. Walton Goggins joined the trend with a gold lamรฉ shirt, making a bold fashion statement for a male actor.

Electric Brights

Amal Clooney wore a rushed, bright red gown with an elegant fit, featuring a delicate, flowing train. Laufey wore a citrus-colored gown with a rushed bodice and cap sleeves. Its electric hue looked bold on the carpet. Actor Wunmi Mosaku donned a bright yellow dress with a sheer overlay that also draped across the back. Olandria Carathen wore a bright green, strapless mermaid gown that hugged her figure like a glove. These silky gowns stole the show, adding elegance to the carpet.

Also wearing bright green were Chase Sui Wonders and Rose Bryne. This Golden Globes bright fashion trend was also worn by Alicia Silverstone, whose fitted and rushed gown flowed elegantly at the bottom. Eva Victor, Abby Elliot, Adam Scott, and Mark Ronson were other actors who stood out for their red hues.

Chris Perfetti wore a silk cobalt blue suit with bold hardware on the front that tied his look together. Lilac was another trend-setting color that was noticeable on the carpet. Its soft, silky hue was worn by Monica Padman, whose fitted, sleeveless gown was elegantly draped by a cowl neckline.

Color Blocking

Timothy Simons struck a pose on the red carpet with a custom two-tone suit. The coat was brown with a black lapel; he completed his look with a black shirt, black trousers, and shiny black shoes. Babyface donned a silver and black jacket that evoked contemporary glamour. Selena Gomez stepped onto the red carpet with a color-block gown complete with an eye-catching white feather trim above her black velvety gown.

Audry Nuna also chose a black and white color-block featuring a cape with bows on the top and bottom. Hudson Williams and Snoop Dogg showed up wearing black and white color-block, both making a bold, trend-setting appearance.

Sheer Palettes

Some actors stood out for their sheer fashion trends. Jennifer Lawrence wore a floral โ€œnaked dressโ€ that had a two-piece appearance and a wrap accessory that draped her arms; the bottom of the gown continued its silky floral design with added sheerness. Minnie Driver chose a black dress with sheer metallic panels and flowy detailing on both sides.

Defining the Night

The fashion trends at the Golden Globes lit up the night with bold and contemporary color palettes. Molten gold topped the night, and electric brights, color blocking, and sheer palettes set the tone for modern trends that step away from classic and traditional. The looks brought enough cutting-edge fashion to make this year’s Globes a defining night for the fashion world that’s unmatched for 2026.
