Barbara Walters
Barbara Walters was a legend of journalism. She died December 30, 2022, at the age of 93 and left an amazing legacy behind. She had to navigate a career at a time when it was the realm of men. She challenged the way things were and broke through the glass ceiling, leaving a path behind her for other women to follow. She was known for riveting interviews, like when she talked to then-President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama and asked her, “You love him very much, don’t you?”
She had more delicate interviews as well, and she could ask the difficult questions. In 1977, she interviewed the Egyptian President and Israeli Prime Minister during their peace talks. She was the first female host of NBC’s Today Show in 1974. To put that in perspective, it was the same year women got the right to have credit cards in their own names. These were different times and she didn’t let that hold her back.
Wrap Up
“Tell Me Everything,” the documentary about Barbara Walters, is a must-see. She broke barriers and lived through a fascinating career. We’re looking forward to learning more about this incredible woman.
