Having a career is not just about having a job to earn money for the things you need. It’s more about having a career that is fulfilling, heeds your talents and passions, and also supports you and your lifestyle the way you need it to. A bad choice of job could make life miserable.

Whether you are looking for your first job or career or looking to change what you have been doing, you don’t want to make a poor choice. It could be helpful to know what to avoid.
Career Choices to Avoid in General
Our signs and our birth charts can give us a lot of information about who we are and who we are meant to be. Each element; fire, water, earth, and air, all have their own personality traits, and to make us even more unique, each sign with each element also has its own personality traits as well. This information along with the locations of the planets in our birth chart tells us about who we are.
As a water sign, we, yes, I am a Scorpio, are intuitive, emotional, and are more likely to follow our heart than other signs. While this gives us very direct ideas on what we should do, it also can give us a lot of information on what we should probably avoid if we are to be successful.
We often wear our hearts on our sleeves and can be influenced by the moods of others, so we do need to pick with whom and where we spend our time carefully. Working in an industry where we must deal with a lot of big problems, unhappy people, or disgruntled co-workers might not be a good fit.
Water signs are also uniquely creative. Emotion needs a creative outlet and waters signs are some of the most artistically creative people among us. They need a creative outlet to both direct and showcase that emotional expression. Without this, we can experience both frustration and burn-out and that isn’t ideal for anyone.
While working in a job that is easy and requires little effort might seem fun in the beginning, it probably isn’t going to be long term. Water signs like to feel they are helping, they like to keep their minds active, and their emotions controlled (emotion is very real). If you are a Cancer, then most likely you are the caretaker in your circle of friends and family. You know what others need, sometimes before they do. You are very in-tune with the needs and feelings with your own feelings as well as those of others.
Due to these amazing and helpful traits, you may find it difficult to work in an industry where you need to be practical and logical. Often fueled by emotion, making a logical choice could be a struggle.
As a water sign who thrives on emotion and taking care of others, you are going to want to avoid careers in insurance, politics, and money such as working for the stock exchange. These industries require detachment, logic, and often quick decisions which are not going to be ideal for your unique skills set.
You would be better suited for positions in nursing, therapy, teaching, hospitality or social work. Here you will be able to showcase your skills and find yourself feeling fulfilled knowing that you were able to do your best to help others reach their goals. These careers are also better suited to helping you reach your goals as well, personal and financial.
Careers To Avoid for Scorpios
Scorpio can be mysterious but want to know everything about everything. Ruled by Pluto, they also want to know what makes you tick, why you do what you do, make the choices you make, believe the things they believe. One of the best descriptions I have heard of a Scorpio is intense and strong willed.
So, you want to avoid jobs that feel shallow or superficial. You need to be able to find in-depth meaning. You need to keep your mind and psyche occupied or you’re going to become bored.
Things to avoid might include cook or chef (although in the right situation, creativity can apply here), translator, or Politian. Also, while you are good at math, accounting is not going to keep your mind occupied.
You might be better suited for jobs in research. For example, investigators, research scientists, or detectives. Maybe even forensic science or medical examiner would be a good fit for you.
Careers To Avoid for Pisces
Oh, Pisces. their dreamy personalities excel in the arts – dancing, painting, singing, drawing, creating anything with any preferred medium. They are ambitious and driven but also healers with a natural ability to help anyone around who needs it.
With that being said, material gains are not a priority for you. Yes, you need to support yourself and be comfortable, but your idea of comfort looks different than that of others. Practicality is not in your wheelhouse as you tend more towards fantasy and carefree. Time is subjective.
Being as you run on your own time schedule, you are going to want to avoid the 9 – 5. Banker, military, any kind of broker, these things are not going to work for you.
Assertiveness and directness are not a strong suite so management or lawyers would probably not work for you either. Besides, you’re too nice for that anyway.
Also, check how introverted you are if looking at sales. Is this a direction you want to go in? Maybe, maybe not.
So now that we know what you don’t want to do, what direction should you look in? You might want to look in the areas of the creative arts: painting, drawing, design, music.
Something more stable might include teaching, nursing, hospitality, or beautician. Counseling or therapeutic medicine could work for you as well as you love to help others and are good at it. This allows you to be creative and help others as well.
Charity or non-profit work could also be a great fit as well as working in environmental sciences, working with animals, and marine life?

We know that water signs are compassionate, caring, and ambitious, though they tend to go about their drive in different ways. As water signs, we need to be helping people, we need to be able to be creative in what we do. Time management may not be a leading skill, and while we can be introverted, we don’t want to be stuck in a back room.
We are best at helping, creating, and learning, so be careful where you go, what you do, and what you commit to. Find your specialty and go for it. Leave the practical, logical and highly structured careers to those who excel in this area and get your creative artistic side out there where it will thrive.
