There have been many action anime released over the years with many more to come. For those of us who love anime, we have a favorite character or characters. Hunter x Hunter is an anime possibly filled with many possible character favorites of yours. But which characters are actually the best?
‘Hunter x Hunter’
Hunter × Hunter is a Japanese anime show based off the manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. The story focuses on a young boy named Gon Freecss. He discovers that his father, who left him at a young age, is actually a world-renowned Hunter.
A hunter is a professional who specializes in locating rare or unidentified animal species, treasure hunting, surveying unexplored enclaves, or hunting down lawless individuals. Gon departs on his own journey. Along the way, Gon encounters rather strange things.
3. Killua Zoldyck
Killua Zoldyck is the third child of Silva and Kikyo Zoldyck and the heir of the Zoldyck family. One day, he runs away from home and becomes a Rookie Hunter. Killua is Gon’s best friend and they often do missions together.
Like his friend Gon, Killua has a natural talent that enables him to learn at a very fast pace. Although he primarily fights with his bare hands, Killua is able to use any kinds of weapons he chooses. But the only one that he uses consistently are his custom-made yo-yos.
When Killua tried to prevent the Selection, he was so confident in his own strength and abilities that he claimed that tanks and fighter jets would be useless against him. In fact, he was able to effortlessly subdue a military unit comprised of at least four tanks.
2. Gon Freecss
Gon Freecss is a Rookie Hunter who is the son of hunter Ging Freecss. Finding his father is Gon’s motivation in becoming a Hunter. Gon is Killua’s best friend and thinks of him as his own brother.
Gon’s powers allow him to continuously put his life on the line without being held back by fear. This allows him to take chances other hunters would not think of taking. As an Enhancer, Gon should be fairly balanced between offense and defense. He prefers to go on the offensive. His stubbornness tends to come out during combat.
He charges into battles recklessly, but he also doesn’t give up until he can’t move anymore. He is quite proficient in close combat after being trained in Shingen-ryu kung fu by masters Wing and Biscuit. Gon can also focus even in the worst circumstances, noticing details that higher-ranked Hunters would miss.
1. Meruem
Meruem is the most powerful offspring of the Chimera Ant Queen. He was known as the “King of the Chimera Ants” and served as the main antagonist of the Chimera Ant arc.
As the King of the Chimera Ants, his power exceeds even that of the Royal Guards. He can increase it even further by consuming Nen users. He fought Isaac Netero, formerly considered the strongest Nen user in the world. Netero retained a fearsome level of power even in his old age. Meruem won in his confrontation with Issac Netero.
