Anime has been around since 1917, with the first-ever Anime film being made. Since then, anime has become very popular among young adults and children. Anime is known for being made in Japan, but what happens when other countries make their own Anime? Here are the 3 best non-Japanese Anime. 

3. Anime Series: Castlevania

The action packed Castlevania is an anime series based on the Japanese video game franchise which shares the same name as the anime. Even though Castlevania is a Japanese series it was actually produced by an American studio called Frederator Studios. 

Castlevania is based on the story of a character named Trevor Belmont, he has to battle with the character Dracula to protect his people. The anime series implemented different video game characters as well as elements of other games within it. These games include Dracula’s Curse, Curse of Darkness, and Symphony of the Knight. 

Anime lovers who love shows like Hellsing, Servamp, and Seraph of the End you will also love Castlevania. The anime has a great story line along with amazing animation, fight scenes, as well as the art style of the series. 

2. Anime Series: Dota: Dragon’s Blood

 

The fantasy anime series Dota: Dragon’s Blood is a series based of the game Dota 2. The series was co-produced between Studio Mir, a studio based in South Korea and Kaiju Boulevard, a studio based in the United States. The animation for the anime series was done by Production Reve, a studio based in South Korea. 

This series is about a Dragon Knight named Davion whose mission is to slay dragons and maintain peace within the realm. However, when young Davion’s soul gets fused together with the soul of a dragon, our young Dragon Knight has to track down and kill a demon who collects dragon souls named Terrorblade.

1. Anime Series: Avatar: The Last Airbender 

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an anime series produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, the animations of the show were made by Studio Mir based in South Korea and Studio Pierrot based in Japan. The sequel of Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra is also produced and animated by the same studios. 

Avatar: The Last Airbender is about a kid named Aang who is the reincarnated Avatar, the master of all four elements. The elements are those of nature, they are Water, Earth, Fire, and Air, Aang becomes the last airbender after the previous Firelord Sozin killed the other Airbenders. Aang and his flying bison Appa become trapped and frozen in an iceberg for over 100 years after being struck down into the ocean from a storm.

After finally escaping the iceberg thanks to a character named Katara and her brother Sokka, Aang starts his journey of mastering all four elements and to bring peace to the world. Along the way Aang, Katara, and Sokka will save multiple people and villages from the fire nation, a nation who only wants to bring destruction and rule over the other nations.
