Why Always On Call Matters
Producer Esben Bundgaard-Jørgensen Selvig said the project taps into a wider appetite for medical storytelling. “Medical dramas are having a real resurgence now, that mix of high-stakes, life-and-death situations and intense personal relationships is striking such a chord with viewers right now,” Selvig said.
“What excites me about Always on Call is that it’s not just about the drama of the operating room, it’s about the people who show up for you no matter who you are, king or ordinary person off the street,” Selvig said. “That’s what a frontline really is.”
