FBI Director Kash Patel and country singer Alexis Wilkins are engaged after about three years of dating. Wilkins announced the news on Sunday, Oct. 4, sharing a photo of the couple that showed off her new engagement ring.
“Went and got the law involved,” Wilkins captioned the black-and-white photo, posted to X, according to Us Weekly. Patel reposted the announcement on his own account.

Patel, 46, and Wilkins, 27, have been linked since around January 2023, according to Us Weekly. The two met at an event at a friend’s home in Nashville, Tennessee, Wilkins has said. TMZ reported that Wilkins described herself on LinkedIn as a country music artist and performer and released her debut album, “Grit,” in April 2023.
Wilkins opened up about meeting Patel during a July 2025 appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, according to Just Jared. “We met in Nashville at an event that we both went to, at a friend’s house,” she said. “I have always liked, when I met him, that he was so honest.
He’s exactly who he is all the time. His character is incredible, his values are incredible. And, you know, we both are very patriotic, so obviously there are things there that we definitely agree on.
But he’s just the most honest, you know, most integrity I’ve really experienced in a person. He’s fantastic.”

The engagement caps a public relationship that has played out alongside Kash Patel’s rise to one of the country’s most high-profile law enforcement posts. Wilkins stood beside Patel in 2025 when he was sworn in as FBI director, Just Jared reported.
The couple previously drew headlines over an FBI security detail assigned to Wilkins, according to Just Jared. Earlier this year, Wilkins also pushed back publicly after facing criticism for performing at President Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair, marking the nation’s 250th anniversary. “I have been a country music artist for years now.
I have had a successful career in both music and commentary/strategy. People don’t get to negate that for clicks or headlines,” she wrote on X in June, per Us Weekly. She said she was not paid for the performance and was invited to sing “on my own accord.”

Patel and Wilkins’ relationship became public in 2023, not long before Patel’s political profile grew within the Trump administration. Wilkins has balanced her music career with commentary work, and TMZ noted she has continued performing and releasing music since her 2023 debut album.
