Agatha All Along Drops First Trailer; Gives First Look At New Series

Agatha All Along was the song that took over the world when it was released in episode seven of Marvel’s hit series, WandaVision. Now, Marvel Studios is hoping it will be the series of the Halloween season. This is the first time we will see Kathryn Hahn’s character on screen since the events in Westview. The first trailer gives us a first look at the journey she will be on and the creepy vibe the show will bring.

Agatha All Along Trailer

Agatha All Along picks up after the events of WandaVision, where Agatha Harkness has lost her abilities. Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, drained her powers in the finale of the show and many fans wondered what happened to the famed Marvel character. Harkness is seen investigating a murder when fellow witch Rio Vidal, played by the always popular Aubrey Plaza, shows up and breaks her free from the reality Wanda trapped her in. Unfortunately, her powers are still gone.

She is on a quest to regain them and must travel the famous Witches Road. To do that, she needs help from her own coven so she recruits some eccentric people to help her with her journey. Joe Locke appears as Billy Kaplan aka Wiccan. Lilia Calderu is another powerful witch who will be played by Patti LuPone. SNL alum Sasheer Zamata also appears in the trailer as the witch Jennifer Kale. Along with the trailer, Marvel released the official synopsis.

“The infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road.”

Creepy Vibe

The trailer has a creepy vibe to it. It opens with a murder investigation where a young girl is found dead in the woods. Once the magic begins, we get glimpses of the frightening creatures the coven of witches will encounter in Agatha All Along. It seems to continue the style that Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness had. While that was a multidimensional adventure, it also had plenty of horror elements. The series is set to release the first two episodes on September 18th, so fans should be in the Halloween spirit.

Can This Series Be Successful?

Marvel Studios has pulled back on their Disney+ content. This will be one of the few series to release in 2024. The studio hopes Agatha All Along can capture the magic WandaVision had. It helps to have two likeable stars in Hahn and Plaza as well as a genre that Marvel hasn’t touched much. The studio has scaled back the content so diehard MCU fans are hungry for content. Can Agatha All Along be the hit of the fall season?
