Bring Her Back was teased at the beginning of April 2025 as another eye-catching horror movie by the amazing A24 studio. Directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, the minds behind the Talk To Me movie, the film is set to hit the silver screens on May 30, 2025. As the film lurks closer to theaters, A24 dropped another trailer to add another sliver of suspense for this film.

The second trailer was uploaded on May 15, 2025, to A24’s YouTube channel, just 15 days before the movie hits theaters. To recap the first trailer, we were shown two foster siblings being taken in by Laura, an odd foster mom with a son named Oliver. The viewers witnessed disturbing habits from Oliver and Laura in the cut scenes, and multiple uses of circles being drawn and shown. One piece of dialogue Laura quoted in Bring Her Back, “Some people believe that some spirits stay in the body for months after death,” foreshadows this tale being centered around spiritual resurrection.
In comparison, the second trailer for Bring Her Back holds a more cohesive dialogue that clarifies the hints from the first trailer. Just like the first, two foster siblings are taken and experience weird things from Laura and Oliver, a boy who was orphaned and has a few unnerving characteristics. It was hinted that Laura lost someone named Cathy, and it is revealed in the second trailer that Cathy was Laura’s daughter. As for Oliver, his behavior is hinting at something worming within him that Laura put there.
What Does it All Mean?
With that bit of information, we can find the motive for Laura’s strangeness and her focus on Oliver. With the knowledge of who Cathy is, motifs of circles being used, and Laura’s unusual behavior, we can deduce that Laura is using magic to bring her daughter back from the dead. And, based on Oliver’s violent reaction to crossing the property boundary and the grotesque shifting on his belly, he is the vessel. The ritual we spot throughout both trailers has to be the key to summoning spirits.
This is all speculation as we still have the wool pulled over your eyes on Bring Her Back. We still don’t know how the foster duo will tie into Laura’s plan and how it will unfold as the story continues. One thing we can tell is that something succeeds to Laura’s delight when she happily chants that “It’s working!”
