Paddy and Ciara are quite the couple in Speak No Evil (2024). Although they start as a harmful, quirky, and eccentric couple, they have more going on underneath the surface as the film progresses. Speak No Evil (2024) does give a bit of a backstory on the couple, and it reveals that Paddy and Ciara pursued having their biological children but suffered a miscarriage at 12 weeks.
While it was never confirmed by the producers, as this was the catalyst for this killing spree, it certainly stands true that Paddy and Ciara are obsessed with creating a family. Even if it means destroying another. The manipulation of the couple went as far as cutting out the child’s tongue, so liberation is void mentally and physically.

Another possible theory surrounding Speak No Evil (2024) is the true nature of Paddy’s and Ciara’s relationship. When Louise can get away from Ciara and Paddy, Ciara reveals that she is a victim too. Ciara continues to say, “She was Paddy’s first,“ and that she was groomed to his lover and accomplice. Considering Paddy’s violent nature towards Ant and the bruises left on Ciara’s stomach, it does show that Paddy is the ultimate mastermind and is physically, emotionally, and sexually abusive. The situation only becomes more odd as Ciara reveals that she and Paddy’s relationship is 17 years old. Which is uneasy as the age gap between the two is quite significant.
However, anyone would be right to say that Ciara could have leveraged sympathy for Louise to gain her trust again. Although the evidence is strong, the film does not officially confirm it is true of Paddy and Ciara’s relationship. It should be left up to the viewer to believe whether or not Ciara was really Paddy’s first victim, although the circumstances surrounding the idea do match up closely to being the truth.
