One Piece Season 1 was released on Netflix on August 31, 2023, becoming the most-watched Netflix show in the second half of the year. The story follows the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates, led by Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar. Season 1 received positive reviews from both critics and fans. Many praised the series’ general fidelity to the source material and praised the production as one of the best live-action manga or anime series adaptations. One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda previously revealed the progress of Season 2 earlier this year. Netflix Reveals New One Piece Cast Members
Ahead of Geeked Week, Netflix reveals two cast members expected to play prominent roles in season 2. The streaming giant’s TUDUM website confirmed that Joe Manganiello has been cast as Mr. 0 (aka Crocidile), and Lera Abova will play Nico Robin. The update was included in the republished season 2 preview with the newly released set tour conducted by Jeff Ward. Netflix added additional pictures of the new cast and mentioned Manganiello and Abova in the article’s excerpt. Both names have been mentioned before but remain a rumor until today’s confirmation.
Scooper DanielRPK first mentioned Manganiello had been cast in season 2 but didn’t specify his character. The confirmation added fuel to the fire when he was announced as the main host for Geeked Week, which will stream live from Atlanta tomorrow. The American actor is famous for his role on HBO’s True Blood as Alcide Herveaux. Now, he’ll be famous as Mr. 0, one of the seven Pirate Warlords of the Sea and President of the mysterious crime syndicate Baroque Works. Abova, famous for her roles in the HBO movie Anna, will play Miss All Sunday, aka Robin. In the manga, she’s the seventh member of the Straw Hat Pirates and takes on the role of an archaeologist.
The TUDUM article also revealed that Bridgerton star Charithra Chandran has been cast as Miss Wednesday. Sendhil Ramamurthy, from Do Aur Do Pyaar, will play the role of Nefertari Cobra. Katey Segal, famous for her roles in Sons of Anarchy and The Conners, will play Dr. Kureha. Mar Harelik, from Preacher, is Dr. Hiriluk. Daniel Lasker of Raised by Wolves will play Mr. 9, and Camrus Johnson, Batwoman, as Mr. 5. Late Night with the Devil star David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Werner Coetser as Dorry, Brendan Murray as Brogy, Clive Russell as Crocus, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colleti as Wapol, and Ty Keogh as Dalton. So far, Chopper’s artist hasn’t been revealed.

Creator Oda reveals that filming is well underway and teases that One Piece Season 2, aside from boasting an all-star cast, will cover the story of Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Capes), Whiskey Peak, Little Island, and Drum Island.
