Season 4 Plot
In Emily in Paris’ fourth season, ex-pat Emily Cooper sparks a romance with a handsome Italian scion. She moves into an Italian apartment to open a Rome office for Agence Grateau. In episode 10, Emily opens the window of her new apartment to a beautiful view. Then, Marcello visits her, and they happily ride on a scooter to tour the city.
Gabriel’s restaurant receives the highly prized Michelin star, but his heart isn’t in it. He clarifies his relationship with Genevieve, who leaves disappointed. Gabriel misses Emily, who then learns that she moved to Rome, and he asks Mindy where exactly in Rome Emily is, suggesting he intends to visit her.

Darren Star tells Tudum that he and the cast are thrilled with the incredible response to this season of Emily in Paris. They’re excited to return for a fifth season to continue Emily’s adventures in Rome and Paris. Though the show is changing, there’s no need to change the name. Star clarifies that Emily will be present in Rome, but that doesn’t mean she will not be in Paris. During her appearance on Good Morning America, Collins told Tudum she’s looking forward to seeing what happens between her character and new beau, Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini.
She explained that in season 4, Marcello was a whole other adventure, ultimately pushing Emily to have a better work-life balance. His character saw her beyond vacay mode, and he came at the perfect time. To this, show creator Star confirmed that Emily’s relationship with Marcello will be explored in season 5. He said that he felt they have a real spark, a real connection, and a real romantic connection, which will continue to play out next season.
Planning Season 5 as Season 4 Takes Over
At the premiere event, Star told PEOPLE he’s already brainstorming the character’s next moves. He revealed that there are so many ways it can go, and there are ideas. To Star, the series has become a fun story to keep telling. In addition to season 5 plans, Emily in Paris Season 4 is already breaking records! The series initially topped the Netflix Top 10 chart with the Season 4 Part 1 release. In the first four days, it had accumulated nearly 20 million views and remained in the top 10 for four consecutive weeks in 93 countries.
