PlayStation Is Coming Out With Exciting Marathon x DualSense Collab on March 5
One of the biggest game releases to come out on PlayStation this year is Marathon, an upcoming PvPvE survival extraction FPS from the creators of Halo and Destiny, where you play as a bio-cybernetic Runner and team up in crews of three or run solo as you take on hostile security forces, rival Runners, and unpredictable environments.
To celebrate the release of the game, Marathon has teamed up with PlayStation to release a limited-edition Marathon-inspired DualSense controller coming next month. Here’s all we know about the launch of the game.

2 weeks ago, PlayStation released a promotional video revealing a limited-edition Marathon-inspired DualSense controller that will be part of the game’s launch next month. The controller is designed as an all-white controller with the logo of the game on the touch pad and the vibrant and colorful art of the game. Here is what Marathon developer Bungie had to say about the reveal of the collaboration:
“We were excited for the opportunity to commemorate Marathon’s launch with a limited edition design that would excite our fans and our team, and feel like a true part of the world we’re building, something that could exist naturally alongside other objects in the game and feel functional, grounded, and authentic to the universe of Marathon.
We set out to create a design that paid homage to the bold graphic design, vibrant color and visual art direction of the game and its industrial design, architecture and environmental surfaces and equipment. The result is a design that reflects the world’s balance of form and function, where clean lines, purposeful markings, and vivid accents come together to feel both futuristic and believable.”
New Controller Will Release on March 5
The release of the new controllers will drop on March 5, the same day that Marathon will release on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, just a few weeks away. The controller will be available in limited quantities globally for $84.99 USD (¥12,480/ €84.99 /£74.99). Pre-orders began on January 29 on the PlayStation website as well as with participating retailers.
Apart from the controllers, PlayStation is also releasing Marathon-inspired wireless headsets, which will also be in limited quantities on the PlayStation website. When ordering directly from PlayStation, you’ll also receive free launch-day delivery for pre-orders of the controller, headset, and/or the game itself.
Marathon Pre-Order Rewards and More
Marathon is available to pre-order now. The game will be available in Standard and Deluxe Editions, with the Deluxe Edition including the Midnight Decay weapon and Runner shell cosmetic bundle, 7 Runner shells, a premium rewards pass voucher, and 200 SILK Rewards Pass Tokens. These rewards will become available as soon as the game fully releases.
Bungie also revealed Marathon’s Collector’s Edition, which features a premium unboxing experience inspired by Sekiguchi Genetics’ shell-weaving process. Unboxing the Collector’s Edition reveals a 1/6-scale Thief Runner Shell statue, collectible miniature WEAVEworm, an embroidered patch, 6 art postcards, a Premium Hexagon Packaging with Lenticular Poster, a display box featuring environmental art, and the Zero Step Emblem and Zero Step Background; bonus cosmetics from the Bungie Store.
With all the incredible rewards that are being offered once the game releases, people are pretty pumped for this first-person shooter game to launch on March 5.
