Daily Devotion: Feel Good Friday Thoughts | February 6, 2026

Happy Friday! It’s time for your daily devotion. What a tremendous day when Job was restored after all his suffering. It proves that trouble doesn’t last forever; Job was longing for a Redeemer, and then God turned his mourning into rejoicing.  In today’s daily devotion, have faith and trust in God’s wisdom and righteousness.

Job is Comforted

Job’s three visitors were miserable comforters, but after God restored him and doubled his possessions, his family and friends comforted him. Job 42:11 reveals that Job’s brothers, sisters, and his former acquaintances arrive to see him. They have a joyous time of celebration, breaking bread with Job in his house. They bring Job money and gifts, and console him after his great trial. Unlike his haters, who tried to bring Job down, they now uplift him. In your daily devotion, say out loud that rejoicing in the Lord is your strength.

God’s Blessings

Job had longed for days of old when he walked in God’s favor and blessings; now God has given him even more. After Satan’s first round of attack, Job lost his possessions, but now his latter end is “more than his beginning.” His sheep, camels, oxen, and donkeys are all doubled, which translates into great wealth for the time Job lived. Hit with round two, Job’s health declined, and he endured great physical pain. After God restores Job, he’s now the picture of health. In today’s daily devotion, there’s no doubt in the story of Job that God is good.

Job’s Three Daughters

Job lives in a patriarchal society where men are leaders. Women’s names, like Job’s wife, are rarely mentioned. In Old Testament genealogies, only men are recorded. Job 42:13 reveals that Job had seven sons and three daughters. However, the sons’ names aren’t given, but Job’s daughters’ names are listed. In verse 14, “And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.”

Some additional information is given about them in verse 15: And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.” The latter part of this verse is significant, since only men received inheritances from their fathers. However, Job’s daughters are considered equally in the inheritance rights. It reveals Job as a loving father and generous provider to all of his children. In this daily devotion, notice Job isn’t a respecter of persons, like your Heavenly Father, who pours His Spirit on both His sons and daughters.

Job Throughout Scripture

In Ezekiel 14, God is speaking to Ezekiel about Israel’s many sins. They’ve been worshipping idols and grievously trespassing against God. Then in verse 13, He warns He’ll send famine in the land. In verse 14, God says, “Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord God.

Job is counted among two other righteous men who lived on the earth. In this daily devotion, notice James 5:11 considers Job an example of patience, endurance, and mercy: “Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.”

Today’s Application

In Friday’s daily devotion, Job’s story teaches you to trust in God’s goodness even when things seem overwhelming. It reveals man’s limited understanding of God’s divine actions. Further, it invites you to walk by faith, trusting in God’s wisdom and righteousness.
