LCK Cup Week 3 Results: Group Baron Emerges Victorious Seeing HLE Eliminated

The LCK Cup Group Battle has concluded. Group Baron managed to edge out Group Elder with sixteen points to fourteen. The week started with two wins for Group Elder, but as we predicted, Group Baron responded with three wins of their own. Due to Hanwha Life Esports’ 3-0 loss to Gen.G Esports, they are the only team knocked out of contention.

The rest of the Group Baron teams start in the Play-Ins. BFX is the only Group Elder team in the Playoffs. HLE is out of the postseason, with the other Group Elder teams beginning in the Play-Ins

Jayce Regains His Spot as Most Banned

After some teams experimented with leaving Jayce open in week 2, he returned to the banned list in the third week. Only DNS left him open in the final game of their series against BFX. With the LCK moving to Patch 26.2, Varus emerged on the permanent ban list. He had the same number of bans as Jayce, with DK allowing Peyz to play the caster AD carry.

Malphite Drops Below Rumble

Following nerfs to Malphite in Patch 26.2, teams had a lower priority on Malphite. He still appeared multiple times on the ban list, but nowhere near the numbers during week 2. After having a 100% ban rate in week 2, he dropped to 55%. He holds 4th position on the list, behind Jayce, Varus, and Rumble.

Ryze Joined By Numerous Champions

With week 3’s matches being best-of-fives, it was inevitable that more champions would feature in every series. The longer a series with Fearless Draft, the more willing teams are to trade champions. One of those cases is Azir and Orianna. In all but one of the series, Azir and Orianna featured in the same game. The champions that appeared in all five series are: Ryze, Azir, Orianna, Jarvan IV, Neeko, Pantheon, Vi, and Xin Zhao.
