Daily Devotion: Feel Good Friday Thoughts with Total Apex Media | December 26, 2025
Happy Friday! Itโs time for your daily devotion. It’s after Christmas, and our wisdom series endures. Solomon progresses by instructing his children in the teachings of his father. In verse 13, Solomon makes things crystal clear by teaching them that instruction is invaluable:ย
13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her, for she is thy life.
In today’s daily devotion, understand that wisdom and life are inseparable.
Take Fast Hold
Solomon teaches his children to honor wisdom just as his father instructed him. He wants them to let Wisdom become a part of their lives and lead them as they depend fully on it. As a king, Solomon had kings, leaders, and dignitaries from all over the world traveling to his kingdom to hear his wisdom.
In 1 Kings 10, when the Queen of Sheba had traveled from afar to witness Solomonโs wisdom and greatness, she came to this conclusion in verses 6-7: โIt was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.โ She goes on to say that โbehold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.โ
Wisdom doesnโt make you a showpiece, but fills your life with knowledge and understanding. In your daily devotion, notice that your wisdom will be evident to all.
Of Your Instruction
Solomon, like David, desired his children’s full attention. His instruction was to anchor their lives and lead them in the right paths. In Psalm 32:8, God delivers this message to David: โI will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.โ God instructs and guides us on our journey of faith. In 2 Timothy 2:15, Paul tells Timothy to study to show himself approved unto God. God delights that we study to gain knowledge and understanding.
Let Her Not Go
After hearing instructions, youโre not to dismiss them. They’re to guide you throughout life. Its relevance never fades. When David attempted to bring the Ark of the Covenant from Kirjathjearim to Jerusalem, disaster struck. He went back and studied the correct procedure for carrying the ark.ย Because divine instructions weren’t followed, one man died. In your daily devotion, recognize that in your life, it pays to follow instructions because they lead to a better life.ย
Keep Her
When you attain wise counsel, you’ll be led in peace. Itโs not that youโll be free of all trouble. It means youโll understand how to handle situations more skilfully. No matter what occurs, youโll know that God hasnโt given you the spirit of fear. In today’s daily devotion, say that you’ll have a sound mind in every circumstance.
She Is Your Life
Solomon gets transparent by saying wisdom is your life. Itโs the principal thing, so nothing outweighs it in value. Wisdom brings honor and glory, and the lack of wisdom can lead to destruction. Solomon had an older brother, Adonijah, who thought he should be king. Before David died, Adonijah tried to claim the throne but failed.
When Solomon became king, he forgave him and allowed him to prove himself worthy. However, Adonijah acted unwisely. Then in 1 Kings 2:24, Solomon decrees, โAdonijah shall be put to death this day.โ In your daily devotion, say this out loud: “I will walk in wisdom and not turn away from it.”
Final Word
In today’s daily devotion, Solomon sets the tone for how we are to view instruction: “She is thy life.” Let that sink in today and boldly declare that it’s the key element in your life.
