Christmas Magic: 5 Most Enchanting North Poles in Movies and TV

Every Christmas, we used to wait for Santa to come and bring us gifts. Then we grew up and learned Santa wasn’t real. However, as adults, we can still remember that magic by watching Santa Claus movies and TV specials. They can capture the beauty and magic of the North Pole and make us excited to imagine going there. Here are five magical North Poles in movies and TV.

5 Magical North Poles in Movies and TV

1. “Fred Claus”

Fred Claus” is a highly underrated Christmas gem with one of the most gorgeous North Poles ever conceived. The North Pole is a whole town decked in Christmas lights, standing out against the snow like a magical star. The workshop is huge and gorgeous, and the elves actually make toys that today’s kids want. Also, there’s an eggnog bar called “Frosty’s Tavern.” No, I’m not kidding. I want to go to Frosty’s Tavern.

2. “The Santa Clause” Trilogy

The classic Tim Allen trilogy presents us with a winter wonderland of a North Pole under the ice. Santa’s workshop is huge and exciting, inhabited by elves who look like children. You feel like you could go visit Santa’s workshop and go exploring like a little kid. There’s also a little elf town called Elfsburg, where you could just hang out and enjoy the Christmas spirit.

3. The “Prep and Landing” TV Specials

Disney’s series of CGI specials starring the elves Wayne and Lanny finally got a new entry this year. In these specials, the North Pole feels like a functioning society where the elves actually have lives outside of Santa’s workshop. There’s a hot chocolate saloon, cable cars that look like ornaments, and the elves drive around in snowmobiles and cherish them like cars. Disney could expand this world into a whole streaming series if they wanted.

4. “The Polar Express”

Yes, “The Polar Express” has become infamous for uncanny valley kids, but the other visuals are gorgeous, especially its North Pole. Here, everything is elf-sized, including the buildings, making the kids feel like giants. There are wild reindeer, a train car that goes out of control, and a roller coaster-like transport from one building to another. Santa’s departure is also celebrated with so much fanfare that you feel like a believer.

5. “Arthur Christmas”

If you like your North Poles with a twist, then watch the highly underrated animated film “Arthur Christmas.” In this movie, Santa’s workshop has gone high-tech. Santa drives a gigantic rocket-powered sleigh, accompanied by hundreds of elves to help him get the job done. At the North Pole is a mission control, where Santa’s oldest son supervises. It’s an awesome, fresh look at the Santa legend.

The Christmas Magic of the North Pole

Our mythological Santa might not be real, but we can always visit him and his elves in the world of fiction. Visiting the North Pole through movies and TV every Christmas can help reawaken that childlike wonder from when we believed in Santa Claus. If you haven’t seen any of these movies and TV specials, do yourself a favor and let yourself be transported to the magic of the North Pole.
