Ray J Says Jail Was a Nightmare, Got into Fight with Cellmate

Ray J recently shared the inside scoop about his night in jail and an uncomfortable incident that could have led to an altercation. William Ray Norwood Jr., better known by his stage name Ray J, was arrested on Thanksgiving morning. Norwood’s charges revolve around domestic violence after an incident in his home with his wife, Princess Love, and another gentleman. The “One Wish” singer and his wife, Princess Love, have a long history of domestic violence and verbal abuse.

Ray J’s Unforgettable Night Behind Bars

In a live stream on Kick, the next day, Ray J warns his fans not to go to jail. In a video clip posted by TMZ on YouTube, the “Moesha” actor discusses his night in jail.

In the video, the “Sexy Can I” singer opens by revealing that he was banned from Twitch permanently, but the story that follows is the real tea. He said that he and his cellmate almost got into a fight because he was self-pleasuring himself sexually in bed. He even goes as far as to say the cellmate called out his name multiple times during the action.

Ray J did not go into detail about how he handled the situation, but mentioned that he was trying to survive and that they almost got into a fight.

Ray J’s Dangerous Thanksgiving Night Unraveled

No one knows the reason behind the altercation that led to the singer’s arrest. The “Love and Hip-Hop” couple have both released their version of the details that happened early Thanksgiving morning.

But according to USA Today, Norwood’s official charges are,

“Ray J was charged with section 422a of the California Penal Code, which refers to a person ‘who willfully threatens to commit a crime which will result in death or great bodily injury to another person.'”

Most of the incident is captured on a Twitch livestream, where Ray J is caught on camera threatening his estranged wife and her family member while holding a gun. After his release from jail, he explained that the reason behind his actions was to protect his kids.

In the video posted by TMZ, he mentions that the “Adopted 2” actor and her company were drunk, trying to snatch his kids from his bed. There is a moment when the screen goes dark, and what sounds like scuffling and threats are exchanged, along with the cries of children in the background.

Hope Amid Heartbreak and Headlines

For six seasons, the toxic, on-and-off-again relationship between Ray J and Princess Love played out on “Love and Hip-Hop: Hollywood.” The dysfunctional duo has been married for eleven years but has filed for divorce four times and reconciled afterwards. They share two kids, daughter Melody Love and son Epik Ray. The incident on Thanksgiving is not the first time the kids were present during a heated moment. Hopefully, the couple can find a healthy way to co-parent and avoid being in the media headlines.
