Daily Devotional For Tuesday Thoughts with Total Apex Media | December 2, 2025
It’s Tuesday, and time for your daily devotion. David has great news for the righteous in Psalm 34. Exuberant about God’s deliverance, he has praised, magnified, and boasted in the Lord. Furthermore, David has proclaimed the Lord’s deliverance, protection, and provision. Now in verse 16, David issues sobering news to those who turn against God:
16 The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
In your daily devotion, declare that you will pursue righteousness, rather than evil.
The Face of the Lord
God told Moses to have Aaron and his sons pray a blessing over the children of Israel. Part of the blessing was that the Lord would make His face shine on them. Another part is that the Lord lifts His countenance upon them. The prayer invokes God’s favor and kindness upon His people. In Tuesday’s daily devotion, declare that as a doer of righteousness, you have the Lord’s face of approval on you.
Against Them
Just think of having the God of the Universe with His face against you. That’s not a space you’d prefer. David warns the wicked, or those intent on evil, that God’s face is against them. No one should want God against them. You need the Source of Life to be favorable toward you. In today’s daily devotion, declare that you will remain on God’s side of approval.
That Do Evil
David makes a distinct reference here. He specifies those who do evil. He doesn’t refer to those who make mistakes, are deceived, or are ignorant. He’s referring to those who actively pursue wrongdoing. Proverbs 4:16 talks about those who don’t sleep unless they’ve done wickedly and cause someone to fall. He’s talking about those with evil hearts and wicked intentions. They’re against doing what’s right. But even so, they can turn and repent at any time. In your daily devotion, know that all it takes is a willing heart to get right with God.
To Cut Off
No one wants to be cut off, especially from God. But David plainly says there’s a time of cutting off. The Bible says God is forgiving, merciful, and long-suffering; however, Abraham calls Him the Judge of all the earth. God doesn’t take pleasure in the downfall or cutting off of people. But there are divine laws that govern how He operates. Natural and spiritual laws aren’t broken without consequences. In this daily devotion, realize that God desires everyone to be saved. However, He doesn’t force anyone to accept Christ.
The Remembrance of Them
God will cut off their remembrance. In other words, their honor or fame will not be long-lasting. Psalms 1:4 says the wicked are like chaff, which the wind blows away. Psalm 37:20 says, “They vanish—like smoke they vanish away.” But goodness and mercy follow the righteous, and they have a sure reward.
Hebrews 10:35 says, “Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.” There is no reward for the wicked. This verse can be seen as a plea for those who commit acts of wickedness with no regard for God’s word to take heed. In your daily devotion, commit to encouraging others to take heed to do what’s right.
Final Word
Today’s daily devotion is a call by David to those who pursue evil. A once-popular play, “Your Arms Too Short to Box with God,” has a bold title; it’s essentially the same message David conveys. No one can afford God’s face against them. Decide today that you’ll pursue righteousness and experience God’s favor shining on you.
