Top 5 Best “Bob’s Burgers” Thanksgiving Episodes

If you enjoy family hijinks and food, then “Bob’s Burgers” is the show for you. This animated hit series from Fox stars a family struggling to keep their restaurant afloat. With 16 seasons under its belt, the show has episodes for any occasion. And that includes major holidays like Christmas, Halloween, and, especially, Thanksgiving.

As of writing this article, there are 11 “Bob’s Burgers” Thanksgiving episodes. They typically revolve around the family patriarch Bob cooking the feast as shenanigans ensue. But which of these Turkey Day specials are considered the top five? Well, grab a drumstick and take a seat because we’re about to find out.

5. “Dawn of the Peck”

This “Bob’s Burgers” special involves Linda and the kids participating in a turkey run. But the event goes wrong, and the birds begin rampaging throughout the town. Meanwhile, Bob stays home, not cooking, and enjoys the solitude with a one-person party. The episode contains some horror themes, think “Dawn of the Dead” mixed with “The Birds.” Definitely a fun and unconventional installment that’ll entertain all who watch it.

4. “Turkey in a Can”

Hailing from Season 4, this Thanksgiving episode brings an interesting whodunnit vibe. Bob’s beautiful turkey, which he’s been preparing for three days, is found in the toilet. And everyone around him is a suspect, including his sister-in-law, Gayle, and his own children. The youngest Louise works to clear her name after being declared the prime suspect. Meanwhile, Bob attempts to rectify this disaster and catch the culprit in the act.

3. “Gayle Makin’ Bob Sled”

“Gayle Makin’ Bob Sled” centers on Bob having to pick up Gayle for Thanksgiving dinner. Though by the time she is ready, snow completely buries Bob’s car. Bob must now pull his sister-in-law and her cat back home in a makeshift sled. Meanwhile, Linda and the kids attempt to finish cooking the meal with hilarious results. It’s an amusing episode that showcases how family is always there for one another.

2. “The Quirk-ducers”

This “Bob’s Burgers” Thanksgiving special stars the kids and happens the day before the holiday. The school guidance counselor, Mr. Frond, prepares to put on his annual play. Louise volunteers to produce it using her older sister Tina’s life-based fiction. But the youngest Belcher has more selfish plans regarding the live performance. Overall, it’s a very unique Thanksgiving episode with musical numbers and a lesson about self-confidence.

1. “An Indecent Thanksgiving Proposal”

Mr. Fischoeder, the Belcher’s eccentric landlord, hires Linda and the kids for an odd job. And it’s all in an effort to impress an old homewrecking flame of his. The show’s first-ever Thanksgiving special, this episode is a hilarious experience. It also contains a fun “My Neighbor Totoro” reference and helped create specific iconic gags. No wonder many consider it the top “Bob’s Burgers” Turkey Day episode.

Final Thoughts on “Bob’s Burgers” Thanksgiving Episodes

These five “Bob’s Burgers” Thanksgiving episodes undoubtedly deserve to be the best. They perfectly encapsulate the meaning of family, even when told in unconventional manners. Plus, it’s always fun to see Bob carry on conversations with the food. And to hear of the innovative ways he plans to cook the turkeys. They honestly make me want to try those methods for my own Thanksgiving Day feast.

“Dawn of the Peck” is my favorite out of this selection of Thanksgiving episodes. I adore its unconventional horror vibe when it’s supposed to be a food-based holiday special. Nevertheless, all five of these entries have their own unique charms. The same goes for the other six episodes not on the list. Go check out all 11 when Turkey Day rolls around this Thursday.
