Doja Cat Matches Beyoncé & Nicki Minaj With ‘Jealous Type’ at No. 1 on Rhythmic Chart

Doja Cat’s “Jealous Type” has officially risen to number one on the Mediabase rhythmic radio chart! This ties her with Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj for the second-most No. 1 singles among female artists. Originally debuting at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, “Jealous Type” was released in September 2025. The lead single from her fifth album Vie (2025), the upbeat, dance-pop track explores themes of insecurity, jealousy, and relationship indecision. The lyrics also reflect a struggle between love and self-doubt.

“Jealous Type” Originally Performed Moderately on the Charts

Co-written by Doja Cat, Jack Antonoff, and Y2K, “Jealous Type” received over 5,000 spins during the November 9–15 tracking period. At first, the song performed moderately on international charts, peaking at No. 28 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It also peaked at number three on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart. Additionally, it reached the top forty in several countries, including the United Kingdom (No. 13) and Canada (No. 35). At the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, “Jealous Type” was nominated for Song of the Summer.

Doja Cat Brought Nostalgic Vibes For the “Jealous Type” Accompanying Video

The 80’s-inspired music video, directed by Boni Mata, was released the same day as the song. It features Doja Cat confronting a second version of herself, symbolizing both jealousy and internal conflict. The Los Angeles native first previewed the song in May 2025, during a Marc Jacobs campaign ad. She later performed a live snippet of it at the Outside Lands festival in August 2025.

Doja Cat’s Hit-Making Status Is Undeniable

Rising to prominence with her second album, Hot Pink (2019), Doja Cat reached the top ten of the US Billboard 200. The album featured the hit single “Say So”. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 after a stellar remix with Nicki Minaj.

To date, Doja Cat has received numerous accolades throughout her career. These honors include one Grammy Award, five American Music Awards, six MTV Video Music Awards, eight iHeartRadio Music Awards, and six Billboard Music Awards. With over 30 million records sold, she remains one of the best-selling female artists of all time.
