Daily Devotion: Feel Good Friday Thoughts with Total Apex Media | November 21, 2025
Happy Friday! It’s time for Friday’s daily devotion. David hits a high note in praising God. In verse 8, he invites everyone to experience God and see how good He is. Furthermore, he calls those who trust in the Lord blessed.
8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
In today’s daily devotion, shout with praise that the Lord is good, and you’re blessed because you trust in Him.
Taste and See
David says, “taste” or take in the goodness of the Lord. When you taste a delicious dessert, you savor its delectable sweetness. Your feel-good hormone, dopamine, is activated, and you’re in delight. David proclaims that experiencing the presence of God is a sweet experience. There’s a song entitled, “Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.” It could easily be the anthem of everyone who walks closely with God.
Psalm 33:5 declares that “the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.” If you don’t see God’s goodness, you’re too far away from Him. If you draw near to Him, He promises to draw near to you. If you only see darkness, come to God’s light. He invites you to His secret place. In Friday’s daily devotion, exclaim that in God’s secret place, you taste and see goodness the world doesn’t possess.
The Lord is Good
Throughout Scripture, God’s goodness is proclaimed. We see God’s goodness in His dealings with the ancient Israelites, who rejected God and chose idolatry. God protected and preserved them, as He promised in His covenant with Abraham.
Israel’s covenant relationship with God was broken because of its actions. God could have cut them off. But His great love and compassion for His people never wavered. His goodness and mercy continued to pursue them, offering a new covenant. Rejoice in today’s daily devotion that God’s love for you never fails.
Blessed is the Man
The word “man” here is not specific to any gender, nationality, or status. It’s whosoever calls on the Lord. God is no respecter of persons, and His will is that all men be saved. Jesus came to save mankind as a whole from sin’s destructiveness. Whoever receives Him is blessed.
The man who accepts Him has access to all the promises of God. The Greek word for blessed is happy. Walking with the Lord brings happiness. You have joy and divine favor in your life. In this daily devotion, sing unto the Lord because you are blessed and highly favored.
Trusting in Him
As a believer, your position is to trust God. Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” The blessing is in trusting the Lord. You can be aware of Him, but you must trust in Him. You may know someone from afar. You may see them every day and even share brief conversations. But unless you become close to them by spending quality time together, you don’t really know them.
God invites us to get to know Him. He created man in His own image and likeness for His pleasure. He delights in the crown of His creation. He established a family lineage beginning with Abraham to bless and be a blessing to the world. In today’s daily devotion, be glad that you are in God’s family and you’re trusting in Him.
Final Word
How sweet it is to trust in the Lord. David invites you to experience the joy of the Lord through getting to know Him intimately as your Father. In “O taste and see,” David exudes excitement in God’s goodness and wants you to feel it too. In your daily devotion and throughout the day, don’t forget that you’re blessed when you trust in Him.
