Daily Devotion Wednesday Wisdom with Total Apex Media | November 12, 2025

It’s time for Wednesday’s daily devotion. Let’s continue with Psalm 34, a song of praise written by David after being delivered from King Achish of Gath. Verse 3 is the end of the introductory section of this psalm. David ushers in God’s presence through praise and encourages others to join him.

3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

In your daily devotion, magnify the Lord with praise that invites others to join in.

O Magnify

You can’t skip over the first two words of verse 3. “O magnify” invokes a sense of compelling excitement. David exhorts others to praise the Lord. And he takes the lead in lifting praise unto Him. The Bible says God inhabits the praises of His people.

When we praise God, He comes into our midst and receives our praise.  God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In today’s daily devotion, thank God that He’s always with you, yet His presence becomes more magnified when you praise.

The Lord

David is clear on the subject of His praise. He doesn’t praise idols of wood or stone. He doesn’t rejoice in his accomplishments or those of kings and armies. He praises the  Lord, the covenant God of Israel. He has been his rock, fortress, and deliverer. God anointed David with skill as a warrior, which made Saul jealous.

But David doesn’t use his skill to fight Saul; he trusts God to deliver him. There are times when you may feel like retaliating. The desire to fight back becomes extremely tempting. In Wednesday’s daily devotion, learn to put situations in God’s hands as David did.

With Me

David doesn’t just direct others to praise God; he participates in praising Him. When David brought back the ark of God, he praised and celebrated God by dancing. His wife, Michal, accused David of disgracing himself. However, David was willing to become undignified in the sight of all Israel rather than not honor God with His praise.

Are you willing to praise God no matter who’s looking? Some people are shy about praising God, yet they yell, scream, and jump at their favorite sports event. In your daily devotion today, decide that you’ll praise the One to whom all praise is due.

Let’s Exalt

David continues to entreat others to praise the Lord. He wants the whole nation to exalt God. When Goliath defied the God of Israel, David determined to take him down: “I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.” He trusts in God’s deliverance, announcing to Goliath that “the battle is the Lord’s, and [God] will give you into our hands.”

In all of David’s victories, he gave God praise. In today’s daily devotion, exalt God’s name in advance for giving you the victory.

His Name Together

Even though David made mistakes, he didn’t lose his praise. In Psalm 5, he speaks of God hearing his voice in the morning, or at daybreak. He begins each day praising God. And he invites others to do the same. He vows to praise God evening, morning, and noon in Psalm 55:17.

David took the lead in organizing worship and praise in the tabernacle. He created instruments and selected singers and musicians to praise God. David made sure the people of God exalted God’s name together when they came into the place of worship.

In today’s daily devotion, determine that you’ll be a person of praise, worshipping God together with other believers.

Final Word

As king, David led by example in praising God. His exuberant praise when bringing the ark back to Jerusalem showed that David would not hold back from praising God. Known as the sweet psalmist of Israel, David organized worship and praise in the tabernacle.

In this mid-week daily devotion, devote some time today to magnifying and exalting God’s name. You don’t have to be in church. His presence is with you everywhere. And when you praise God, He will inhabit your praise.
