Dante VS Clive (Devil May Cry VS Final Fantasy) | DEATH BATTLE!

Dante vs Clive: Most Intense DEATH BATTLE Yet

“DEATH BATTLE” recently dropped a new episode, complete with a mind-blowing showdown between two characters. This time, the clash consisted of sword wielders from renowned video game franchises. And they were Dante from Devil May Cry and Clive from Final Fantasy.

One is a pizza-loving demon hunter, the other is a vassal for a fiery demon. Each of them wields mighty powers that put them on par with gods. But which one of them walked away at the conclusion of their death battle?

Dante and Clive, Ready to Fight

A son of the legendary and righteous demon Sparda, Dante hunts demons for a living. He carries out his profession using his insane strength, speed, and regenerative powers. And a wide array of weapons, including his signature magical pistols, Ebony and Ivory. His best weapon, however, is Rebellion, a mystical sword once held by his father. Lastly, the demon hunter can unleash his full demonic powers using his Devil Trigger form.

Clive Rosfield is a master swordsman from the kingdom of Rosaria. He possesses a variety of blades, including Invictus, the Omega Weapon, and Gotterdammerung. The swordsman is also the human host of the Eikon, Ifrit, granting him fire manipulation. He has also absorbed other powerful Eikons and uses their various elemental powers. And when the battles get tough, he and Ifrit can merge into one unstoppable form.

Swords Clash and Inner Demons Awaken

The showdown began with Dante finding Clive residing in a courtyard of a ruined castle. After an exchange of pleasantries, the combatants whipped out their blades and entered combat. The son of Sparta kept his foe on his toes with his vast arsenal. But the vassal of Ifrit countered everything with his elemental magic.

Things soon heated up when the fighters summoned forth their full demonic powers. The now-empowered combatants exchanged vicious blows, leaving them battered and exhausted. Afterward, Dante readied to finish the fight, but Clive called upon Ifrit one last time. This final push reduced the demon hunter to ash and secured victory for his opponent.

Following the fight, the “DEATH BATTLE” hosts revealed that this insane match was very close. They explained that the combatants were equal in physical prowess and magical powers. But Clive had the edge with his superior endurance, which stems from his immense willpower. The durability of the demon hunter is, unfortunately, tied to his finite demonic power. Meaning he was not last for much longer, thus guaranteeing his opponent the win.

Final Thoughts

This Dante vs Clive episode of “DEATH BATTLE” was, undoubtedly, the most epic yet. The animation for the fight scene was so mesmerizing and fast-paced. And the soundtrack perfectly matched the intensity of the fight between the two combatants. Additionally, it was a treat seeing some aspects of the video games during the combat.

Regarding the outcome, I am surprised that the seemingly unstoppable son of Sparda lost. I also figured his vast demon-fighting experience would grant him an edge in the fight. But I cannot ignore the facts about the winning edge his foe possessed. Still, this was a battle for the ages that no one will forget soon. I suspect I will be saying the same for the next one.
