Hartnett is in St. John’s, Newfoundland, filming a six-episode limited series created by Jesse McKeown for Netflix. According to the Netflix Instagram post, the series centers around Hartnett’s character, a “hard-bitten fisherman” who “discovers that his hometown is being terrorized by a mysterious creature.” The series also stars “Stranger Things” star Charlie Heaton, Mackenzie Davis, Ruby Stokes, Willow Kean, Rohan Campbell, and Kaleb Horn. Production on the series began in August.

The Accident

According to a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) release, an SUV driven by a 59-year-old male driver and containing a 47-year-old passenger (Hartnett) collided with one of its patrol vehicles. The accident took place just before 1 a.m. on September 25. The SUV driver and passenger were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries and released. The officer driving the patrol vehicle was also taken to the hospital as a precaution and was also released. There was “significant damage to both of the vehicles involved.” The RNC is seeking anyone who witnessed or has access to footage of the accident as they continue to investigate the accident.

Hartnett’s Acting Career

Hartnett has had a long and successful career in television and film. The Minnesota native got his big break playing the son of Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode in “Halloween H20: 20 Years Later.” From there, Hartnett went on to star in box office hits like “The Faculty,” “The Virgin Suicides,” “Pearl Harbor,” “Black Hawk Down,” “The Black Dahlia,” “Oppenheimer,” and “Trap.” Along the way, Hartnett crossed over to television for roles in shows like “Penny Dreadful,” “Paradise Lost,” “Black Mirror,” and “The Bear.” He won a Screen Actors’ Guild Award last year for his role in the blockbuster “Oppenheimer.”
