Wicked: For Good Soundtrack Release Date Announced, Features Exciting New Songs

Fans will be happily returning to Oz, as the soundtrack for Wicked: For Good is on the horizon.  Set to be released on November 21, 2025, the highly anticipated soundtrack will be arriving the same day that the film premieres in theaters. It will feature a total of 11 tracks, including songs from the original Broadway musical, and two brand-new original songs. These originals were written specifically for the film.

Actors From the Original Film Aim to Create New Memories With New Songs

The new songs include “No Place Like Home,” performed by Cynthia Erivo, who also co-wrote the song, and “The Girl in the Bubble,” performed by Ariana Grande. Stephen Schwartz, the composer of the original musical, confirmed that the new songs were created specifically to serve the story.  The soundtrack is produced by Greg Wells, Stephen Oremus, and composer Stephen Schwartz.

This Melodic Sequel Recaptures the Magic of the Original Film

The sequel to the 2024 film Wicked, Wicked: For Good, continues the story of Elphaba Thropp and Glinda Upland years after the events of the first film.  It focuses on the consequences of their choices and the escalating conflict in the Land of Oz.  Additional cast members include, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible.

Could the Wicked: For Good Soundtrack Become Another Hit?

The soundtrack aims to follow the success of the first film’s album, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. This marked the highest debut for a film adaptation of a stage musical. The original Wicked soundtrack was released on November 22, 2024, and featured fresh orchestral arrangements and a sing-along edition released later in December. Composed by John Powell and Stephen Schwartz, the original soundtrack was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Score.
