Daily Devotion: Feel Good Friday Thoughts with Total Apex Media | November 7, 2025
Happy Friday! It’s time for your daily devotion. Our series has been rich with lessons on love from the apostle of love in 1 John 3. Today marks our last day in the chapter that, hopefully, has stirred you to abide in God’s love. In verse 24, John tells us that it’s the Spirit who gives us the power to keep God’s commandments and abide in His love.
24Â And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
In today’s daily devotion, know that as a keeper of God’s commandments, you dwell in Him, and His Spirit abides in you.
Keeping His Commandments

John is referring to you as he addresses the one who keeps God’s commandments. Keeping God’s commandments or obeying His word is habitual for people of God. It shows you belong to Him. Abraham was obedient to God’s call to leave his home country and travel to a place he was unfamiliar with. He was even willing to sacrifice his son. These tests proved Abraham’s willingness to obey God.
Abraham, the Father of Faith, is an example of obedience to God’s commandments. He proves that you can obey God even in the most intimidating circumstances. In your daily devotion, make a declaration that you will continue to keep God’s commandments.
Dwelling in Him
Dwelling in God is a position of intimacy. Psalm 91 says, He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” God invites you to a place of communion and fellowship with Him. In His presence, you bask in His love and receive strength and counsel. The secret place is a place of protection and provision.
Dwelling in God means you’re not focused on what’s going on around you. The cares of this life don’t weigh you down when you’re abiding in Him. In today’s daily devotion, enjoy the peace and protection of dwelling in God.
God Abides in You
Paul says in 1 Corinthians 3:16, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” Not only do you dwell in God; He dwells in you. He makes His abode in those who love Him and walk in His commandments. That means you’re never alone. God has promised never to leave or forsake you. David said he would dwell in God’s house forever.
In the Old Testament, God loved Israel, though they were a rebellious and idolatrous nation. Throughout all their inconsistencies, God never left them. In Friday’s daily devotion, rejoice that the faithful God abides with you forever.
Given His Spirit

God seals us with the Holy Spirit. In 1 Corinthians 1:22, Paul says that God has “sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” God has put His seal on you, and you are His. The Holy Spirit who abides in you is proof of that. As a believer, you are Spirit-led, which means He guides and counsels you in your faith walk. He even helps you pray.
Romans 8:1 says, “For we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit [Himself] maketh intercession for us.” The Holy Spirit not only seals us, but He is our Helper, and He is ever with us. In your daily devotion, be thankful that you are sealed!
Final Word
In this daily devotion, our series on 1 John 3 ends with verse 24. The apostle of love has taught you that you must abide in God’s love and love others as He has loved you. When you keep His commandments, you dwell in Him and He abides in you. The Holy Spirit is your seal that you belong to God. The third chapter of John’s first letter assures you that you have a secure and everlasting position in God.
