Daily Devotional For Tuesday Thoughts with Total Apex Media | October 28, 2025

In your Tuesday daily devotional, John, the apostle of love, continues his teaching. He tells believers that the gospel, from its beginning, is a message of love. The night Jesus was betrayed, the disciples were with Him in the Upper Room where He delivered His final instructions, telling them in John  13:34, “As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

John knows that without love, Christianity won’t work. In 1 John 3:11-12, he says this:

11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous.

In your daily devotion, meditate on the words of Jesus that John heard from the beginning: “You must love one another.”

From the Beginning

John 3:16 confirms love was God’s motivation in giving Jesus to the world. In Jesus’ ministry, repentance, salvation, and godliness were major topics. There’s no way to repent and receive salvation without loving God and giving Him your life. And there’s no way to live godly without loving others. In today’s daily devotion, proclaim that the gospel message is based on our love for God and for people.

Love One Another

Christ gives His disciples a charge to love one another as He has loved them. This means our love must measure the love Christ demonstrates. Christ is our example in everything we do, not people, regardless of their relationship or title; we mustn’t have a temporal, self-serving love like the world. God’s love is rooted in a spirit of love.

How do you achieve this love? When you’re born again, this love is deposited in your spirit in seed form. You must nurture it with God’s word, obedience, time in prayer, and communion with the Holy Spirit. Spiritual practices lead to walking in love. In your daily devotion, determine to love as Christ loves by daily spiritual practice.

Be Unlike Cain

John warns against being like Cain. The enemy’s influence ensnared Cain. He was hateful, bloodthirsty, and evil like his spiritual father, Satan. Cain wanted to do things his way on his terms. He hated God for not approving a sacrifice God didn’t sanction. How do we know God didn’t approve it? Deuteronomy 32:4 declares God is just. A just God never requires what He hasn’t made known.

It didn’t matter to Cain that Abel was righteous. He hated him for that very reason. He despised the fact that Abel had God’s favor, and he didn’t. Instead of changing his behavior, his hatred intensified, and he murdered his brother. In this daily devotion, praise God that you are unlike Cain and like Christ.

Evil vs Righteous Actions

Cain’s evil thoughts led to wrong actions. Satan is evil and diabolical. John says of Satan in John 8:44, “There is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Cain deceived Abel by luring him into the field. Then he hid his evil intent before striking.  Like Satan, Cain was an adversary, a liar, a deceiver. a thief, and a murderer,

Abel sought to please God in his lifestyle and giving. God is love, and His word is Truth. Jesus is the Word made flesh; therefore, He is Truth manifested. Although Abel stood for righteousness, Cain killed him, but he lives eternally in Christ. In your daily devotion, rejoice that regardless of what happens in this life, you will dwell in God’s house forever.

Final Word

In today’s daily devotion, John considers love the heart of Christianity. The gospel is based on God’s love. In John 14:15, Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commands.” Love is not a suggestion, but a command of God. Renowned faith teacher Kenneth E. Hagin once said that when things weren’t going well, he’d check his love walk.

Faith is key for believers, and Paul declares in Galatians 5:6 that faith works “by love.” Let today’s daily devotion stir you to walk in love. It’s the message that from the beginning was taught by the Master of love, Jesus Christ.
