Margot Robbie Set to Star in Tim Burton’s Attack of the 50 Foot Woman Remake

Tim Burton’s Attack of the 50 Foot Woman remake will put a new spin on the 1950s classic B movie, and it looks like he’s found the person to play the titular 50 foot woman. Have you ever wondered what would happen if Barbie grew to be 50 feet tall? Well, Margot Robbie, the star of the Barbie movie, is likely going to play the lead role.

According to Variety, the Barbie star is in conversation with Burton to star in the remake of the 1958 horror movie about a woman who grows fifty feet tall thanks to an encounter with aliens. Should the deal go through, Robbie would produce the film as well as star in it, with her LuckyChap partners Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamera co-producing.

In Search of a New Writer

Gillian Flynn, the writer of Gone Girl, wrote a first draft of the script, but had to leave the project due to other commitments. As of the writing of this article, Burton is still seeking a new writer. Reportedly, Margot Robbie is waiting to confirm her involvement until the final script is finished, which means that it could be a while before we know for certain if she is confirmed.

When Will the Attack of the 50 Foot Woman Remake be Released?

There is no release date set as of now. Since the film is looking for a new writer and Margot Robbie’s involvement isn’t yet confirmed, we can reasonably assume that it will be a couple of years before the Attack of the 50 Foot Woman remake comes out. In the meantime, people can seek out the original film and the 1993 remake. After Burton’s box office success with Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! last year, expectations will be high for the Attack of the 50 Foot Woman remake. Of course, there might be some who would rather have a third Beetlejuice movie, but this remake could inspire young people to discover the world of weird 50s B movies.
