Spider-Man Brand New Day: Spidey and Hulk Could Team Up with Mark Ruffalo’s Awaited Return
Spider-Man Brand New Day is the anticipated fourth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man franchise. Spider-Man No Way Home gave us a memorable adventure where Tom Holland’s Spider-Man teamed up with the other Spider-Mans from the previous live-action movie franchises. How do you top that? Well, next time, Spider-Man might team up with a familiar Marvel face.
Mark Ruffalo Possibly Returning for Spider-Man Brand New Day
According to IGN, the Hollywood Reporter stated that Mark Ruffalo will be returning to the MCU to reprise his role as Bruce Banner/the Hulk for Brand New Day. However, it should be noted that neither Sony nor Marvel has commented on the story, so it shouldn’t be assumed that he is confirmed to appear. Ruffalo first played Banner in 2012’s The Avengers, but he has been absent from the MCU since the maligned Disney+ show She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, which was back in 2022. He didn’t even make an appearance in Captain America Brave New World, which featured several characters from the first Incredible Hulk movie.
What Could Happen if Spider-Man and the Hulk Team Up?
The teaser for Spider-Man Brand New Day dropped recently, but it only showed Peter Parker in his new Spider-Man suit, saying, “we ready?” It gave us no hints about the plot. However, since Spider-Man No Way Home ended with everyone forgetting about Peter, we can assume that the film will deal with him picking up his life afterwards. Both Tony Stark and Aunt May are dead, so perhaps Bruce Banner will take up the mantle of being Peter’s mentor in the new movie. We could also have some cool action scenes where the Hulk’s strength is combined with Spider-Man’s agility.
When is Spider-Man Brand New Day Coming?
Spider-Man Brand New Day is set to release on July 31, 2026, which gives fans plenty of time to speculate about what will happen. If Mark Ruffalo does return, he will undoubtedly continue to please fans with his low-key approach to Bruce Banner. Perhaps someday, Ruffalo will even star in his own solo Hulk movie.
