Daily Devotional Monday Motivation with Total Apex Media | September 15, 2025
Happy Monday! It’s time for your daily devotion. Our series began with Psalm 23, and we’re continuing this powerful psalm in verse 5. David is extolling the Good Shepherd, who provides, guides, and restores. As sheep, we’re well taken care of by our Shepherd who provides everything we need. Even when we go through storms, He’s right there to lead us safely through them.
In verse 5, David says, “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.” Let’s examine this praiseworthy verse.
Prepares a Table

The Good Shepherd ministers to those He loves. Jesus, the Shepherd, demonstrates love by washing His disciples’ feet. Moreover, He served humanity by humbling Himself, giving His life as a sacrifice for our salvation. In this verse, David reveals the Shepherd preparing a table. What’s on the table? All of the blessings of God. In today’s daily devotion, thank God that His blessings belong to you.
Before Me
Yes, God’s blessings are for you. Stop buying into unworthiness. You’re not worthy in yourself, but in Him, you’re worthy. The Shepherd’s finished work on the cross has made you worthy to stand before God. He provides the table in your presence, for you, and with you in mind. Everything you need is there. Take and eat.
The Presence of My Enemies
God has prepared a feast for you, not in secret. It’s not tucked away in a corner where you’ll be out of view. No, the table will be right in the presence of your enemies. Your enemy, Satan and his cohorts, will watch you dine sumptuously. But they can’t join in or stop you from enjoying this delightful feast. While you’re enjoying the goodness of God, Satan is powerless to stop it.
Give God praise in today’s daily devotion that God’s preparing good things for you that no evil power can take away.
Anoints my Head with Oil

Just as shepherds would pour oil on their sheep’s heads as an insect repellent and skin protectant, the Good Shepherd provides everything you need. He keeps you safe from whatever may cause harm. Our Shepherd has been anointed with the oil of gladness, and we share in that gladness. He protects us, He provides for us, and He has made us glad.
Today, rejoice in your daily devotion time because your Shepherd keeps you safe from harm.
My Cup Runs Over
David cannot contain himself. The Good Shepherd is so amazing. David has everything he needs. He lacks nothing because the Lord is right there. He never sleeps or slumbers. He makes intercession for us at the Father’s right hand. He is devoted to us. We are His body of believers, and He strengthens us to carry out His will on earth.
As king, David had the privilege of bringing the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem. The ark represented the presence of God. But because of Israel’s disobedience, it had been stolen by their enemies. When David brought it back, he and the nation celebrated. David danced with all his might because his cup ran over. In Monday’s daily devotion, rejoice in God’s goodness to you.
Final Thoughts
What a powerful and wonderful Good Shepherd we have. He prepares a table just for us. When Jesus prepared to wash His disciples’ feet, it says in John 13:4, “He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.” Jesus took steps to minister to those who should have been ministering to Him. Jesus prepares, ministers, and serves us as our Shepherd.
As your enemies look on helplessly, your table is set with all the abundance of God’s provision. He keeps you safe and full of joy by anointing your head with oil and filling you to overflow. End today’s daily devotion with a shout of praise for your amazing Good Shepherd whose care for you never ends.
