Today’s Faith: Anger Management Is Not Shameful
Today’s Faith requires you to seek Anger Management when your spirit feels unsettled. Today we travel to James 1:19-20.
Anger is one of those emotions we all wrestle with. It doesn’t matter who you are, it sneaks in when you least expect it. You’re fine one moment, and then someone cuts you off in traffic or says the wrong thing, and suddenly your pulse races. That’s where Anger Management comes in.
Not the kind that just tells you to count to ten, but the kind that invites God into the moment. He asks us to slow down, listen before we speak, and think before we react. When we do, something shifts inside. Instead of anger running the show, God’s Spirit settles our hearts and steadies our words. And that, my friend, makes all the difference.

Why Anger Management Matters in Faith
Here’s the truth: anger can destroy faster than almost anything else. A single sentence spoken in frustration can leave a mark that lasts for years. That’s why Anger Management isn’t optional for a believer, it’s essential. God calls us to handle anger differently than the world does.
Instead of exploding or stuffing it down, we take it straight to Him. We pray, we pause. That small pause creates space for the Spirit to calm us and redirect us. Over time, practicing Anger Management with God’s help doesn’t just change how we react, it changes who we are becoming. It shapes us into people of peace, not chaos.
Bible Verse
James 1:19-20 (NIV)
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

- What the Bible says about anger
Father, I come to You with an honest heart. I know I get angry. Sometimes it happens fast, and I say things I wish I could take back. Other times, I hold it in until it spills out later. Lord, I don’t want anger to control me. I want You to control me. Help me practice Anger Management in a way that points people back to You. When I’m tempted to react, remind me to pause. When my words feel sharp, soften them with Your love.
There are times I’m imagining whole arguments that never happened, feelings take me over that try to destroy my day. My nights are filled with taking Sleep Aids and ignore those I love because I just cannot fight the anger in me at times. It makes me feel no one cares about my wants or needs and it isolates me. I do not want to be this person and I also have no one to help me be free of this relationship with anger. Please send me the help I need. Help me swallow my pride and do what is necessary to keep this body, the family, this community in tact and enjoy the journey.Â
Teach me that patience is not weakness but strength under Your guidance. Lord, please heal relationships where my anger has done crazy damage and give me wisdom to handle conflict with grace. Fill me with peace so that others see Christ in me. Thank You for Your patience with me, and thank You for never giving up on me. In Jesus’ name, Amen. What has today’s faith required from you?
