5 Star Wars Characters Who Need More Love

5 Star Wars Characters

We recently looked at 5 Star Wars characters who are forever immortal. These were characters who have become iconic to the public and will likely remain so forever. However, some Star Wars characters don’t get the love they deserve from the fanbase. Sometimes they are ignored, or sometimes the fanbase might hate them. Let’s have a look at 5 Star Wars characters who need more love.

5 Star Wars Characters Begging For More Love

1. Jar Jar Binks

I can already hear people booing. Even though he’s gotten more appreciation in recent years, there are still people who love to hate him. Whether or not you find him annoying is a personal reaction, but there is something charming about a misfit who always wants to do the right thing, regardless of whether or not he succeeds. Even though he knows that sometimes his clumsiness will get him into trouble, he still doesn’t hesitate to do what he believes is right.

2. Shmi Skywalker

Anakin’s quietly suffering mother deserves more attention. Thanks to Pernilla August’s heartfelt performance, the audience can see how absolutely heartbroken she is at the idea of losing her son. However, she tries to conceal her devastation because she’s also desperate for Anakin to be freed from slavery. Many fans speculate that if Anakin had been allowed to visit his mother, he might not have fallen to the dark side. We may never know if that’s true, but Shmi remains an important presence in Anakin’s life. One of the 5 Star Wars characters that needs more love.

3. Jannah

Introduced in The Rise of Skywalkershe was the leader of a group of stormtroopers who rebelled against the First Order and went rogue. While she didn’t get much screen time, she was still memorable with her wild hair and fun dynamic with Finn. In addition, Lando offers to help her find her family at the end of the movie, which opens up many doors for further character development. Perhaps her story will continue in a future Star Wars movie or TV show.

4. Bail Organa

Here’s another Star Wars parent who needs more attention. Leia’s adopted father is dedicated to justice and democracy even as he sees the Republic crumbling around him. As is seen in the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries, he loves his daughter fiercely and raises her to be compassionate and responsible. He’s a steadfast character who always believes in his ideals. A Disney+ series that centers around his days as a senator could have plenty of potential. Thus, he makes the 5 Star Wars Characters that need more love.

5. Qi’ra

Han Solo’s ex in Solo: A Star Wars Story was a fascinating character. She isn’t technically a villain, but she believes in survival above everything else, thanks to her abusive childhood. She provides a foil to Han, representing what he is in danger of becoming if he loses his sense of morality. In some ways, she might even consider leaving Han to be an act of compassion, since she doesn’t want him to become like her.  A follow-up to Solo could further explore her complexities.

Conclusion

Of course, there are more than 5 Star Wars characters that need more love. This list could have included Rose Tico, Count Dooku, or lesser-known characters from the TV shows, books, and video games. As Star Wars forever expands, some characters will become icons, while others will be overlooked. However, that doesn’t mean the overlooked characters are any less worthy of love.
